We invite you to honour the memory of your loved ones, no matter when they passed. This service is open to anyone who wishes to remember and reflect. Rev'd Claire invites you to come together in support, healing, and remembrance. At today's Messy Church we learned all about baptism. We heard the story of how Jesus was baptised. Then we made paper plate doves, and we decorated scallop shells, like those used in the baptism service. In baptism oil and water are both used, so we made pictures, finding out how oil and water don't mix. In church we played the parts of parents, godparents and vicars as we pretended to baptise baby Emma Rachael! Messy Church returns on 8th November for more stories and creative fun.

Would you like to engage more deeply with the Bible? Ever wondered how you might get more out of Sunday sermons? Have you got questions that you don't get the opportunity to ask? Would you like to think more deeply about how reading the Bible might impact your daily life? Why not give this discussion group a try. We meet weekly to read and discuss the passages that will be read the following Sunday in church. No previous knowledge needed, no such thing as a silly question. No need to commit to coming every week; the group operates on a 'drop-in' basis, so just come if and when you are free. Bring a Bible (any edition) if you have one.

At tonight's Sanctuary, we continued our celebration of Harvest by thinking about the Parable of the mustard seed. We wrote the small things that we could do to make a difference on leaves to which a tiny seed was attached. Then we wrote the big differences we'd like to see God make in the world on bird shapes. We attached both to our prayer tree, symbolically planting seeds and building nests. Sanctuary is a Eucharist with space for reflection and contemplation. It will be back on 12th November.

A huge thank you to all the volunteers who came to assist with our wonderful Harvest Festival service today at Colton Lodges care home. Thank you too for all the wonderful food donations, which will go to support the work of our friends at the foodbank at St Richard's Seacroft.

Come and enjoy "Sanctuary" on Thursday 8th October. Sanctuary is a Eucharist with space for watching and waiting. The service uses fewer words than a Sunday Eucharist, and leaves more time for reflection, using gentle music and silence. There is the opportunity to receive prayer ministry at the end of the service for those who would like it. As always, all are warmly welcome.
