Last week, Acumen supported a coordinated response to safely clear an abandoned trailer containing mixed waste on the A1 near Great Ponton. The incident required a controlled removal process due to the unknown nature of the materials involved.

Our operational teams worked through Monday and Tuesday night to assess the load, separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and ensure all material was made safe for transport and compliant disposal. Hazardous waste was transported to our Dewsbury facility, with non-hazardous waste sent to Barkston via grab lorry.

This work played an important role in mitigating a potential risk to the environment and public safety, and helped ensure the A1 remained safe for road users. The response to this incident demonstrates our continued capability, professionalism, and commitment to public and environmental safety.
