Studio Pyramid members had a fantastic Spark Session last month with artist Alice Burford, creating imaginative bug hotels for our courtyard garden 🤩

This term, the Eden group are exploring the possibilities of drawing with artists Lorna and Hannah ✨

They kicked things off with a large-scale, music-inspired group drawing session last week, creating landscapes, musical instruments, abstract patterns, and characters and performers from the world of music. We absolutely love what they made 🤩

🌿Gardening and Nature Sketching for Wellbeing – Next week!🌿

Join us next Monday for a relaxed, drop-in gardening and nature sketching for wellbeing session at our studio in Holbeck ✨

We’ll be planting a vibrant dye garden in our courtyard with support from Kirstie Williams🤩

These new plants have been carefully selected for their rich colours and sensory qualities and will be used in future creative projects with our members. After some time in the garden, you’ll be invited to head into the studio to enjoy some nature sketching inspired by your time in the garden and the beautiful foliage on display in our studio 🌱

This is an open session and everyone is welcome. No gardening or drawing experience is needed, and all materials will be provided!

Thanks to your creativity and generosity, Heather is now building a giant granny square blanket fort, which will be showcased in our upcoming exhibition at Sunny Bank Mills this summer 🌈🧶

Last month, the Visioning Group had the chance to explore the archive at York Explore Library and Archive. After an inspiring tour, the group got hands-on and created their own wax seals, taking inspiration from the collection ✨

Thanks to all our Studio Pyramid attendees and volunteers who've added so much colour and joy to our courtyard garden 🌞

We can't wait to share this space with everyone at our Gardening and Nature Sketching for Wellbeing day on 18 May. We've partnered with Kirstie Williams who will be helping us plant a vibrant dye garden in our courtyard on the day, which will be used for future creative projects. We've partnered with the HALO group at Hamara Healthy Living Centre on a new exhibition at HEART - Headingley Enterprise and Arts Centre that celebrates food and cuisine 🍲

Over the past twelve weeks, Studio Pyramid members, along with members of HALO, have been working on food-inspired artwork across a range of mediums, including a mixture of 2D and 3D work. Food Glorious Food! brings together these new pieces which celebrate the artists’ favourite foods, celebrity chefs, and the joy of sharing meals together 🤩
