We can't believe it's been a year since we became a CIC already! (July).

We'd love to celebrate our year with you all, and yes, there will be food....(Got your attention now? ๐Ÿ˜‰).

We'll be going over what we've accomplished, what we plan to do, opportunities, etc and it's a good chance to have your say and shape what we do, because, PAL CIC is for the community afterall!

Bring your family, your friends, etc and if you know any community groups, etc that we aren't currently connected with yet, such as SEND, etc, bring them along.

Keep an eye out for updates and see you there ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿพ

Due to the hot weather and unpredictability we have chosen to cancel our dog walking social for the safety of our humans and dog.

We are sorry for any inconvenience.

We believe the welfare of our dogs comes first and we just cannot take the risk.

Today is International Day of Action on Womenโ€™s Health.

For generations, women have fought to be listened to, believed, and given autonomy over our own bodies and healthcare. Yet too many still experience dismissal, gatekeeping, misdiagnosis, and having their pain minimised.

Our first ever guest blog, written by Paws Kesby, explores why medical misogyny doesnโ€™t stop at cis women, and how many trans people, particularly those perceived as women or needing access to gendered healthcare services, can encounter strikingly similar experiences of not being listened to, believed, or treated with dignity within healthcare systems.

These experiences are not identical. But they are connected.

If we want healthcare systems that truly respect bodily autonomy, informed consent, and compassionate care, solidarity matters.

It's a shame we still have to have this conversation, but hopefully a picture speaks a thousand words....

Picture drawn by our director Paws Kesby as human art, no matter how wonky is better than stealing and destroying the planet.

Imagine description: Brown cartoon dog sat on a path looking sad under the hot sun. On the path there are two human foot prints in orange looking really hot. Image text, "if it's too hot for your bare feet it's too hot for me!".

Weโ€™re incredibly proud to share that Pawsitive Action Leeds CIC has been shortlisted for the BBC Radio Leeds Make a Difference Awards 2026 in the Animal Award category!

Out of more than 350 nominations across Yorkshire, weโ€™ve officially made the final shortlist, one of just four finalists in our category.

As a small community organisation led by disabled and q***r people, this recognition means the world to us. Thank you to everyone who has supported PAL CIC, trusted us with your dogs, attended workshops, volunteered, donated, shared our work, or simply believed in what we do.

We started PAL CIC to make ethical dog training, assistance dog support, and advocacy more accessible, and to know that this work is being recognised is genuinely overwhelming.

Congratulations to all the other shortlisted finalists, and thank you to BBC Radio Leeds for celebrating community work across our region ๐Ÿ’š
