A new chapter for PAL CIC.

Change can feel scary, especially when you don’t quite know what the road ahead will look like. But it can also bring new ideas, new opportunities and a chance to grow.

We’re incredibly hopeful about what comes next. PAL CIC is still here, still moving forward, and still committed to making assistance dog support more accessible, inclusive and welfare-focused.

Changes happen. Our mission doesn’t.

We’re looking for new Directors to join PAL CIC!

Pawsitive Action Leeds CIC is looking for people who share our commitment to making assistance dog support more accessible, inclusive and welfare-focused.

This is a voluntary governance role, with a core commitment of just four accessible meetings a year, usually online. Anything beyond that is optional. We believe volunteering should fit around your health, wellbeing and life, not the other way around.

You don’t need previous Director experience. We’re particularly interested in people who understand disability through personal, caring or professional experience and who share our values around:

Dog welfare and force-free training
Disability rights and accessibility
Inclusion and intersectionality
Compassionate, accountable governance

We especially welcome interest from people from marginalised and underrepresented communities.

Introducing the PAL CIC Solidarity Fund

We believe assistance dogs should be accessible regardless of someone's income.

The PAL CIC Solidarity Fund supports disabled and neurodivergent people in Leeds and surrounding areas who are experiencing financial barriers connected to their assistance dog, assistance dog in training, or accessing assistance dog support.

The fund can help towards things like assistance dog training and assessments, travel to training, urgent assistance dog welfare costs, and essential costs that could otherwise put an assistance dog partnership at risk.

We'll always explore other appropriate funding and support first and help people navigate it so that every pound donated can go further. Where other support can't help, the Solidarity Fund can step in to help fill the gap.

It's not about charity. It's about solidarity.

Helping make assistance dogs accessible to all, and making sure financial hardship doesn't mean facing those barriers alone.

Keep your dogs safe tonight! With the solar eclipse coming up, please remember that the radiation that will come from the sun will damage their eyes too!

We recommend you keep your dogs indoors, for the entirety of the eclipse, to ensure no dogs’ eyes get damaged!

Make sure that you also wear eclipse glasses, or choose another way to safely view the eclipse.

🐾 New Peer Support Social for Trauma Survivors – Yeadon with Pawsitive Action Leeds CIC 🐾

Join us for a new dog-friendly peer support group, specifically for those navigating PTSD, C-PTSD, or domestic abuse (DV) trauma. This is a relaxed, safe space designed for good company, chatting, and sharing some dog love.

This is a FREE group, facilitated by our specialist canine and disability practitioners, who themselves have lived experience of trauma.

🐕 Do I Need a Dog?
No dog required! However, if you have a dog who is happy and comfortable in a pub environment, you are very welcome to bring them along with you.

📍 When & Where:
When: The 2nd Wednesday of the month (this upcoming session).Where: The Function Room, The White Swan, High Street, Yeadon, LS19 7TA.

🧡 Important Details:
While this group is free to attend, we kindly ask that you purchase a drink or some food to support our fantastic venue.

At Pawsitive Action Leeds CIC, everyone is welcome.
Recent conversations and developments around EHRC guidance have understandably left some trans people feeling uncertain about where they are welcome and safe. We want there to be absolutely no uncertainty about PAL CIC.

You are welcome here. You are safe to be yourself here.
Our founder, Paws, is trans, and creating a genuinely inclusive organisation has been central to PAL CIC from the very beginning. That means creating spaces where our clients, volunteers, colleagues and community members are respected for who they are, without having to justify their existence or identity.

For us, inclusion isn't just something written in an Equality, Diversity & Inclusion policy. It's something we want people to feel when they walk into a training session, attend one of our events, ask us for support, or simply send us a message.

Our focus will always be on people and their dogs: supporting disabled people, improving accessibility, advocating for assistance dog partnerships, promoting excellent canine welfare, and building a community where people can belong.

Whatever is happening in the world outside our doors, PAL CIC will continue to be a place where you can be you. 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈🐕‍🦺💚
