Happy Father’s Day

To all the dads, greyhound dads, dog dads and foster dads, and everyone spending today with their four-legged best friend - we hope you have the day you all deserve

And ain't that the truth.

This beautiful boy was homed up in Yorkshire by Greyhound Trust West Yorkshire in September 2016, became a regular on walks organised in and around Yorkshire area with Sighthound Social Club which Steve, lead volunteer organises.

Jay Jay featured on a few 'Memes' for the Trust over the years and it was sad to know he had attended his last walk crossing over the bridge recently at the grand old age of 13 years 10 month. He was still attending walks and giving Steve a wag of the tail and a chatter of his remaining teeth when he saw him.

He certainly gave us his heart over all of these years from the first moment of coming in to Kennels and having his homing picture taken to having a cuddle just a few weeks ago on a Social Walk.

Run free sweet boy, you've really showed us what a beautiful life a greyhound can have after racing and it's been a pleasure to see you all these years.

Could you foster a greyhound looking for a home this Volunteers’ Week?

Fostering gives a greyhound the chance to experience home comforts, build confidence, and get used to the sights, sounds and smells of life outside of the kennels while they wait for their forever family.

We’re always in need of foster carers whether you already have a dog at home or not, and it’s a hugely rewarding way to support the greyhounds in our care.

Would just like to personally thank the customers of the Bay Horse in Farsley who have been helping to raise some funds through the purchase of dog treats in the bar

Everything helps and this really makes sure we can still help those greyhounds who are not able to be homed or have medical conditions which require our financial support.

I know a few personal friends drink in there so put this post on my own page as well so they could see the thank you.
