We’re delighted to announce that through our partnership with Recycle Your Electricals, the UK-wide campaign helping make electrical recycling easier and more accessible for everyone, we have reused 447 items in the first 6 months of the project. We have also safe recycled over 0.7 tonnes.
Through this collaboration, we’re giving our local community the opportunity to safely recycle their old electrical items — because anything with a plug, battery, or cable should always be recycled responsibly.
Our electrical recycling banks at the Hunslet and Armley shops and even one in our Café — provide more than 50,000 people in the local area with convenient drop-off locations for unwanted electricals.
For over 20 years SLATE has provided work based training to adults with learning disabilities. 7 of the team have gained a qualification in PAT testing during this project which will really expand their experience and confidence which is a strong pillar of our organisation
Simply bring along any small electrical items that will fit in the big pink recycling banks, whether they’re working or not, and we’ll ensure they’re recycled properly, even resold in our fantastic shops.
Together, we can keep valuable materials in use and reduce waste.
