Leeds Faith in Schools

Leeds Faith in Schools A flexible and professional resource to schools in Leeds Leeds Faith in Schools exists to be good news to the high schools of Leeds.

Over 20 years ago the churches in Leeds came together in response the the Faith in Leeds report to establish Leeds Faith in Schools to share the Good News with teenagers across the city. From working with a handful of schools in the beginning we now have youthworkers working across 19 high schools and academies in Leeds. We hope to be good news to the high schools of Leeds whom we serve by deliver

ing Assemblies, RE lessons, PSCHE lessons and mentoring groups as well as running lunchtime clubs, Christian Unions, after school activities and sports coaching. Our work is values led and contributes to schools' SMSC responsibilities. We have an active involvement in city-wide church youth work across Leeds, partnering with other youth organisations to help shape the landscape of Christian youth work in the city and support the local church. We believe that every teenager is brilliant, valuable and has a unique contribution to bring to society. We hope that through our work the teenagers we see grow in confidence, develop socially, emotionally and spiritually and get to live life in all its fullness.

HE. IS. RISEN! When Jesus died on the cross the story does not end there! 3 days later he rose from the dead! He conquered sin and death on the cross and by the power of his resurrection and today, Easter Sunday, we celebrate all that Jesus did for us to redeem us and bring us back into relationship with him!

"He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying." Matthew 28:6

We are praying you all have a great Easter reflecting on what God has done for you!
Happy Easter

"He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed." 1 Peter 2:24. On Good Friday we remember the death of Jesus where Jesus took our sins from us so we can be saved.

This Easter we have been going around schools teaching young people That because of Jesus' death they can be saved and have a relationship with Jesus. Pray or the growth of seeds planted in these young people's hearts πŸ™πŸΌ

Maundy Thursday, the day Jesus had passover with his followers before his crucifixion. Maundy comes from the Latin word "mandatum" meaning command and Jesus' last command before his death was "Love one another, as I have loved you" John 13:34

At Jesus' last supper with his followers he is giving them an opportunity to show love the way he does. Join us at LFIS as we pray that young people know they are loved by Jesus and can have a relationship with him πŸ™πŸΌ

Palm Sunday is when we remember Jesus entering Jerusalem just before his death and resurrection. The people welcomed him by paving the path with palm leaves, a symbol of peace and victory, while singing "Hosanna" to praise Jesus as King.

This Easter season we pray that the young people of Leeds know what Jesus did for them by bringing his victory over sin and death that they too can praise him as King in their lives πŸ™πŸΌπŸŒΏ

The influences that social media affect young people in many different ways. One of those ways is in their relationships, there is so much pressure that comes from social media about what makes a good friend as well as negative influences. Join us in praying for a protection and guidance for young people about how they should act in all their relationships πŸ™πŸΌ
