Are you free on the morning of Saturday October 17th? (likely date)

Have you ever walked on the Pendas Greenway from Manston Lane to Smeaton Approach?

The Friends of Pendas Way need your help and Don says:

"The chicane at Manston Lane needs a bit of trimming to cut back the brambles and tidy up the roadside. Also the brambles need weeding out from where we planted wild flowers near the chicane.

Opposite John Smeaton Leisure Centre, undergrowth is pushing the path off its course along the top of the slope and onto the sloping grass. This will get boggy and slippery in winter, so again, the undergrowth needs trimming back and the path restoring to its former place.

Also in the same place, we planted a hedge a couple of years ago. The hedge has disappeared underneath a heap of bindweed and we could do with looking to see if we can find it again and disentangle it from the bindweed".

Looking at East Sides of Cities and why they are so often the underdog or the last bit to be relished by their community.

A little step back in time - taking a look at East Leeds project and Claire Irving and Kerry Harker talking to Same Skies.
Working with not FOR, BY or TO communities.

It's about that voice - everything was designed for people but not with people.

Bad news - unfortunately Wednesday's bat walk has been cancelled due to illness 😭

We're doing our best to find an alternative expert but if we can't do it this year, we'll try and run one earlier next year 🦇
