Knowing you can stay changes everything. πŸ’™

When people fleeing conflict and persecution have a safe place to call home, they can begin to build a future, connect with their community, and create a sense of belonging.

Housing is more than a roof over your head. It's stability, dignity, and the foundation for integration. 🏑✨

πŸ’› One conversation. One connection. A lasting difference.

Last year, 34 volunteers provided one-to-one mentoring, helping people navigate daily life, build confidence, and take positive next steps.

πŸ—£οΈ "She helps me cope with day-to-day stress."

From understanding services and tackling everyday challenges to simply having someone to talk to, our volunteer mentors offer practical support and a friendly, consistent presence.

🌱 Together, we're helping people feel more connected, supported, and empowered to move forward.

πŸ™Œ Thank you to every volunteer who gives their time, compassion, and encouragement.

We practised English in a living room. Then used it in the real world, at the shop, on the bus, and at the GP.

Those small conversations can make a big difference.

🌱 When you're new to a city, finding the right support isn't always straightforward.

πŸ“ Support services are spread across Leeds, with different organisations providing different kinds of help. Whether it's food, housing, immigration advice, clothing, social opportunities, employment support, wellbeing services, or simply information about what's available, people often need to connect with multiple organisations to find the support they need.

🀝 LASSN is one branch of a much wider support network. Working alongside our partners across the city, we help people seeking sanctuary navigate services, build connections, and access support as they rebuild their lives.

🌳 No single organisation can do it all, but together we can make a real difference.

Thank you to our partners for the vital work they do every day. πŸ’š

Last year, LASSN supported 45 people with housing during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Access to safe and stable housing can be a crucial step towards security, wellbeing, and rebuilding a future.

Thank you to everyone who supports our work and helps make this possible. πŸ’›

πŸŽ“ A visit to Leeds City College can be the first step towards a new future.

🚢 Walking the corridors, sitting in classrooms, and imagining what comes next helps make education feel possible.

✨ Sometimes, a small act of support can open big opportunities. Support someone to visit a college and explore their future.

🏠 Stable housing changes what people can focus on next.

Having a safe and secure place to call home is about so much more than housing. For refugees rebuilding their lives, stable housing provides the foundation to look ahead and create new opportunities.

With housing security, people can focus on:
πŸ’Ό Finding work
πŸ“š Accessing education and training
🀝 Building community connections
❀️ Making friends
🩺 Looking after their health and wellbeing
πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§ Building and strengthening relationships

A home offers stability, safety, and the chance to put down roots. It creates the space for people to grow in confidence, pursue goals, and become active members of their communities.

Because when housing is secure, people can focus on building their future.
