🌟 We’re excited to share our Young Futures Fund ‘Funding in Action’ report – celebrating the incredible difference this funding is making for children and young people.

Shaped by insights from our Community Insight Tracker, the fund focuses on key areas where support is needed most – including teenage mental health, help for families during school holidays, and opportunities for younger children to stay active.

🗣️ Karl Doyle, Chair of Trustees for Asda Foundation, shared: “The Young Futures Fund is about making sure children and young people have the support they need to thrive. By listening to communities, we’ve been able to focus our funding on the areas that matter most – from mental wellbeing to active lifestyles and essential holiday support. We’re incredibly proud to have supported 986 groups with £772,814, and it’s inspiring to see the positive difference they’re making every day.”

Delivered through Healthy Teen Minds, Active Young Lives, and School Holiday Essentials, the fund is helping to support young people and families in meaningful, practical ways.

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing local groups and volunteers who bring this work to life 🙌

As part of Knife Crime Awareness Week, we’re shining a light on organisations working tirelessly to protect and empower young people. We’re proud to have supported ALIVE Wellness Centre CIC with a £1,000 Young Futures: Healthy Teen Minds grant via Asda Small Heath. 🤝 💚

ALIVE supports young people affected by knife crime, youth violence and trauma through counselling, mentoring and wellbeing activities. With our funding, they will deliver trauma-informed workshops and one-to-one counselling, alongside providing the resources needed to create a safe, welcoming space. These sessions focus on emotional wellbeing, conflict resolution, confidence-building and helping young people develop positive coping strategies. 💬 🤲

This funding will help ALIVE continue offering safe spaces, emotional support and positive opportunities for young people who may otherwise be at risk of violence, exploitation or poor mental health. 🧠✨

Through this support, more young people will be able to access early intervention, build resilience and develop the confidence and skills they need to move forward positively, while contributing to safer, stronger communities. 🌟

💚 This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re proud to spotlight Brightstar, supported through our Young Futures: Healthy Teen Minds Fund.

We awarded £500 via Asda Donnington Wood, helping Brightstar invest in essential boxing equipment for their Counterpunch programme – a powerful mix of non‑contact boxing, mentoring and open conversations that supports teenagers’ mental and emotional wellbeing. 🥊🧠

Using sport as a positive outlet, the funding will help young people build confidence, reduce stigma, improve mental health and feel part of a supportive community. ✨🫂

We’re proud to support local organisations taking action for better teen mental health. 💚

It’s Deaf Awareness Week and we’re proud to spotlight Llanelli Centre for the Deaf 💚🤟

We awarded £20,000 through our Local Community Spaces Fund in 2025, supported by Asda Llanelli Murray Street, to help protect and strengthen this vital community hub.

Llanelli Centre for the Deaf has supported the Deaf community for over 75 years, providing a safe, welcoming space where people are understood, connected, and cared for – often described as a true “Deaf family home” 🏠

The funding is being used for essential improvements, including replastering the hallway stairs and landing, and replacing worn flooring across the first floor and stairways. These upgrades will improve safety, accessibility and comfort, ensuring the Centre remains inclusive for everyone, including those with mobility needs ♿✨

The Centre runs a wide range of activities, including weekly social evenings, youth clubs, family sign and play sessions, British Sign Language classes, trips, events and vital support services that bring people together and reduce isolation 🤍

Supporting this project means helping the Centre continue its day‑to‑day work, ensuring the building is safe, accessible and fit for the community that relies on it every week. 🧏💚

Happy National Siblings Day! 💚👫Today we’re celebrating the power of siblings – in our own families and in the community groups who champion that same care every day.

We’re proud to spotlight The Sibling Group - a charity built from a place of lived experience, empathy and love. Founded after CEO Grace noticed the lack of support for both young people with the most complex needs and their siblings. The charity provides young people, siblings, and disabled adults, safe spaces to connect, grow and feel understood. 🌈✨

With a £1,000 Young Futures: Healthy Teen Minds grant from us, via Asda Harrogate, the group is running weekly wellbeing sessions for teenagers with additional needs. Funding is helping them purchase new resources for art, music, physical activities and life‑skills – all supporting confidence, communication and independence. 🎨🎶🧩

Their work also offers vital respite for parents and carers and helps create a more inclusive community where every young person belongs. 💛

We asked Grace, CEO, The Sibling Group, what impact this funding will have: “The funding will help us purchase the resources we need to run our groups and support disabled young people to engage in activities that build wellbeing and independence, while giving families much‑needed respite.”

We’re grateful to play a part in their mission, and on National Siblings Day, it feels especially meaningful to celebrate a group created through the love of one sibling for another. 💚
