St Anne's Community Services

St Anne's Community Services Supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, alcohol abuse, and homelessness.

We are proud to support people with learning disabilities, mental health, substance misuse and homelessness issues and to help them achieve their aspirations. We provide housing- and accommodation-based support in partnership with other housing providers and deliver a range of community-based services across the North of England. Much of our work is undertaken in partnership with local authority adult social care departments, clinical commissioning groups and community safety partnerships. We also work extensively with people whose support is funded via a Direct Payment or an individual service fund (ISF). Our current offer includes:

Supported living services
Residential care, including nursing care
Specialist detoxification and rehabilitation (alcohol and substance misuse)
Respite care
Domiciliary care
Floating outreach
Carers support
Day services
Shared Lives
Community mental health and substance use services
Housing with support (long and short term)

Eight months ago, Jaden attended a The King's Trust Get Hired event, where she had the chance to sit down with Rosie from our Recruitment Team and learn more about working in Adult social care.

Today, she's a Support Worker at St Anne's, supporting people to live more independent and fulfilling lives.

Partnerships like this help create real opportunities, connecting people with meaningful careers while helping us grow the next generation of support workers.

When Ben was younger, rock climbing was something he enjoyed. As his support team spent time getting to know him and exploring the kinds of activities he might like to do, conversations with his mum brought them back to those memories of climbing and how much he loved it.

Wanting to see whether it was something Ben would still enjoy, the team arranged a 1:1 session at Activity Centre.

From the moment he arrived, it was clear Ben was ready for the challenge. He tackled the climbing wall with determination, focus and a huge smile on his face, leaving everyone around him amazed.

Watching him climb higher and higher was incredible. His excitement was infectious, and seeing the pride on his face as he took on the wall was a reminder of what can happen when people are given the opportunity to pursue the things that matter to them.

This is what a Life Without Limits looks like!!!

Thank you, Ben, for reminding us that it's never too late to revisit something you've always enjoyed, build new memories and find your next adventure.

We were delighted to be invited to the launch of The Nest, Hull's dedicated Youth Hub, located at Princess Quay Shopping Centre in the heart of the city, and to celebrate the start of an exciting partnership that will support young people across Hull to access new opportunities.

We're proud to be working alongside Hull KR Foundation and Department for Work and Pensions - DWP to help young people aged 16-24 access the support, skills and guidance they need to take their next step.

For Shakira, having her own space gives her the independence to live life her way, while knowing support is there whenever she needs it.

She enjoys making the most of each day, whether that's joining in with baking sessions, taking a morning walk, getting creative at art group, or relaxing in the garden and spending time with other people she lives alongside.

One of Shakira's favourite things about where she lives is the people. She has special nicknames for the support workers and says they're always there when she needs them. When asked if she has a favourite member of the team, her answer is simple: she can't choose because they're all her favourites.

Shakira's story shows how the right support can help people build confidence, maintain their independence, and enjoy the things that matter most to them.

When Kayleigh reflects on her journey so far, she's proud of how far she's come. After facing challenges with her mental health, she's now looking towards the future and taking positive steps towards her goals.

One of those steps is getting back into work, starting with a volunteer role to build her confidence and experience. Along the way, she's been inspired by the support she's received and the positive impact her support workers have had on her life.

Kayleigh has big ambitions for the future. In the next ten years, she hopes to have her own place, live fully independently, and achieve her dream of becoming a qualified mental health nurse so she can support others in the way she has been supported herself.

Her story is a reminder that recovery isn't always a straight path, but with the right support, determination and belief in yourself, anything is possible.
