St Anne's Community Services Supporting people with learning disabilities, mental health needs, alcohol abuse, and homelessness.

We are proud to support people with learning disabilities, mental health, substance misuse and homelessness issues and to help them achieve their aspirations. We provide housing- and accommodation-based support in partnership with other housing providers and deliver a range of community-based services across the North of England. Much of our work is undertaken in partnership with local authority a

dult social care departments, clinical commissioning groups and community safety partnerships. We also work extensively with people whose support is funded via a Direct Payment or an individual service fund (ISF). Our current offer includes:

Supported living services
Residential care, including nursing care
Specialist detoxification and rehabilitation (alcohol and substance misuse)
Respite care
Domiciliary care
Floating outreach
Carers support
Day services
Shared Lives
Community mental health and substance use services
Housing with support (long and short term)

He almost didn't walk through the door... Like many people, Wayne wasn't sure what to expect when he was referred to St Anne's Alcohol Service through

He'd heard the stereotypes and nearly decided not to come.

What he found instead was a welcoming community, support from people who understood, and a place where everyone is treated equally.
Recovery isn't something people have to face alone. For Wayne, that support helped him take positive steps towards changing his life.

What if support happened around the dinner table, over a cup of tea, during a trip to the shops, or while cheering someone on as they tried something new?

That's what Shared Lives is all about.

Shared Lives helps local people stay connected to the communities they know and love. It gives adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and other support needs the opportunity to remain close to the people, places and routines that matter to them, continuing to live in the town they call home.

Here in Darlington, people support each other every day. They check in on neighbours, help family members, offer lifts and lend a hand when it's needed. Shared Lives builds on that same community spirit, helping adults with additional support needs live full, connected lives as part of their local community.

By opening their homes, Shared Lives carers share everyday life with the person they support. That might mean sharing meals, helping someone build confidence to try new things, supporting them to access their community, celebrating achievements together, or simply being a familiar face who is there through life's ups and downs.

What does a Life Without Limits mean?

For some people, it means having a safe place to call home. For others, it means learning to travel independently, managing their own tenancy, building new relationships, finding work, reconnecting with family, or having the confidence to make decisions about their future.

At St Anne's, we believe everyone should have the opportunity to live life on their own terms. That's why, over the next five years, we'll continue creating safe and welcoming homes, investing in the people who provide support, and helping more people build the skills, confidence and independence needed for everyday life.

We'll support people to stay connected to their communities, make choices that matter to them, and achieve goals that may once have felt out of reach.

Because a Life Without Limits isn't the same for everyone. It's about having the freedom, support and opportunity to build a life that feels like your own.

Ever wondered what support the homeless community receive in Leeds? Come behind the scenes with Tee and take a look around the St Anne's Resource Centre.

People can access hot breakfasts, free laundry facilities, clothing donations, creative activities and practical support. Whether someone needs a warm meal, clean clothes, help navigating challenges or simply a friendly face, Tee, Fiona and the team are there to offer support without judgement.

Most of what happens here is made possible through the generosity of local people and charity partners. Donations of clothing, coats, trousers and everyday essentials help ensure support is available when it's needed most for the people who walk through our doors. If you'd like to support the Resource Centre, these donations are always appreciated.

When you enquire about becoming a Shared Lives carer, we take time to get to know you. What do you enjoy doing? What does your everyday life look like? We ask the same questions of the people looking for support, because Shared Lives isn't about finding someone a spare room. It's about finding the right people to match.

For Emma and Deborah, that match has grown into eight years of shared experiences. Between holidays, Italian cooking and salsa classes, they've built a relationship around the things they enjoy doing together.

Shared Lives fits around your life. Deborah continues to work, while Emma enjoys a busy week filled with activities, day services and the things she loves doing.

That's why getting the match right matters. Shared interests create opportunities, friendships grow naturally, and sometimes both people discover things they never expected to enjoy.

Clients and colleagues from Creykes Lodge had a fantastic time joining the team at Parklands Care Home Rawcliffe for their annual Circus of Chaos celebration.

From garden games and entertainment to plenty of laughter and meaningful conversations, it was a wonderful opportunity to come together, make new connections and enjoy being part of our local community.

We're passionate about creating opportunities for the people we support to get involved, build friendships and enjoy new experiences, and this event was a perfect example of community spirit at its best.

A huge thank you to everyone at Parklands for hosting such a brilliant day. We had an amazing time and can't wait to join you again in the future!
