ATTENTION..
On behalf of Black Voices Matter Leeds, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of Professor Jason Ardy.
We are truly sorry for your loss. At a time of such profound grief, we hope you find strength and comfort in the love, memories and moments shared with Jason, and in the support of those around you.
We are deeply saddened and angered by the abhorrent nature of the racist behaviour and narratives that have been perpetuated through sections of the media and, in this case, within Cambridge University. Such behaviour and narratives have no place in our society and must be challenged.
Black Voices Matter Leeds will continue to call out racism, challenge institutional inequalities and work towards eradicating the systems and behaviours that allow racial prejudice and discrimination to persist.
In honour of Professor Jason Ardy, we invite members of the wider community and other organisations to put forward constructive suggestions on how we can advocate on his behalf, protect his legacy and turn this moment of profound loss into meaningful action and change.
Professor Jason Ardy’s life, achievements and contribution will not be forgotten. We stand alongside his family with love, strength and solidarity during this incredibly difficult time.
May Professor Jason Ardy rest peacefully, and may his memory continue to inspire those committed to justice, equality and meaningful change.
With deepest sympathy and solidarity,
Black Voices Matter Leeds
