Lights, camera… gazebo! 🎥

Did you know the Parish Council has two gazebos available for community use in Shadwell?

Recently they’ve been put to good use by a film crew working in the village, showing just how versatile they can be! Whether it’s for filming, village events, charity fundraisers, fairs, or local gatherings, community groups and organisations are very welcome to borrow one or both gazebos.

At this month’s Parish Council surgery, a number of important points were raised by local residents.

We would be delighted to welcome more members of the community to attend. These sessions provide a valuable opportunity to speak directly with your Parish Council and share any concerns, ideas, or questions you may have.

The surgery takes place on the first Saturday of every month, from 10:00 to 11:00am at Shadwell Library.

The next session will be held on Saturday 6th June.

The next Parish Council Surgery is this Saturday 2nd May, 10-11am in the Library.

This is the best way to speak to one of the Parish Council members directly. Please call in to discuss any issues you have, or any suggestions of ways things can be improved. We would be really pleased to see you.

Cllr David Ford attended the Harewood PACT (Police and Communities Together) meeting in Wetherby on Thursday 23rd April.

There were 44 reported incidents across the whole area. A couple of anti-social behaviour incidents involved e-scooters in Shadwell, but the main concern raised was cars speeding through our villages 🚗

If you witness anything, please make sure to report it via the West Yorkshire Police website (as pictured). Click “Report It” and complete the form. There’s also a live chat facility available, which is often quicker than calling 101 and ensures the incident is logged.

Reporting directly is far more effective than sharing issues on local community pages, so please take a moment to log anything you see.

Police and Communities Together - West Yorkshire Police would like to invite residents to the next Harewood Police and Communities Together Meeting on Thursday 23rd April 2026.

The meeting will begin at 18:30pm and last approximately an hour. It will be held at Wetherby Police Station, Boston Road, Wetherby, LS22 5HA.

PACT meetings give members of the community an opportunity raise concerns directly with police officers and to hear about the work being done in our area by West Yorkshire Police.
