Our Future Beeston works for a greener, cleaner, fairer Beeston, supporting ideas and intiatives from local residents. It is is run by a steering group of local residents in partnership with Health for All. Many of us are concerned about climate change and we know the city of Leeds is working toward its commitment to be a zero carbon city by 2030...
but often there are issues that feel more imp

ortant...rising food and fuel prices, dirty and polluted streets, cold and draughty homes, lack of green space, jobs...

A big THANK YOU to all those who came to our jam and crumble making evening and for being patient with us! Who knew jam was so hard to get right 😂.

We managed to make some lovely apple crumble, and some apple and blackberry jam which tasted so much better knowing the fruit was picked in our own community!

Had a fab evening picking apples and blackberries from our door step, right here in Beeston! It was lovely to get out in nature and sample what it had to offer.

Watch this space for the next session in our fruit walk series where we will now use the produce we picked to make jam and apple juice.

TOMORROW !! (Thursday 28th August)

Our second fruit pick walk in the woods by Beeston Park ring road! This session we will focus on picking more fruit for jam making and apples for apple pressing.

Meet opposite the Tommy Wass @ 6pm.

Bring a bag or tub to carry your fruit!

Another lovely weekend at the Beeston Repair Café. Lots of tricky Repairs this week that got our volunteers thinking 🤔.

The main successful fixes were from our wonderful sewers who managed to fix things from dog toys to trousers.

Thanks again for all the support and our great volunteers doing all they can to help fix the local communities broken items !
