Thank you for your kind Donations to our Spectacle recycling bins in and around Faringdon. We have collected a large bagful of spectacles for recycling today.

We at Lechlade & District Lions club would like to express our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of one of our collection point proprietors Dawn Pulker who recently passed away. We are truly grateful for the support given by Dawn & her colleagues in allowing us to place a bin in The Barbers shop.

Lechlade & District Lions Club is collecting used spectacles and hearing aids to help people see and hear clearly around the world.
We send the glasses and used hearing aids we collect to the Lions' recycling centre, where they are sorted and sent on to the Medico France facility in Le Havre. From there, they are carefully graded and shipped to people who need them in countries like Papua New Guinea, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Nigeria, and Nepal.
Your donation can make a huge difference. A simple pair of glasses or used hearing aid can help someone read , hear and work, and live more independently.

You can drop off your old spectacles or hearing aids at the following collection points in Faringdon.

Faringdon Library , Gloucester Street.

Faringdon In Stitches ,28A London Street.

please bring them in to one of our drop points in Faringdon and pop them in the Lions box for collection.

Lechlade & District Lions club would like thank everyone who visited us at the Fairford Steam
& Vintage Fair last weekend. Our Human Fruit machine game was a complete success . We raised £520 for good causes in the community and importantly helped to raise our profile within the Fairford community which we are proud to serve.
We are truly grateful to the show organisers who invited us along and our volunteers including young people who are completing their Young Leaders in Service award scheme which is run in local schools by our club.

It has been a blast at the Fairford Steam & Vintage fair this weekend. It was great to see you and thank you all who had a go at our Human Fruit Machine and donated to our charitable funds.
