“Transform is changing lives in ways that are hard to put into words. The other day, I looked around the room and thought, ‘Wow, everyone here needs this so much.’” 💙

These are the words of Ash, who highlights just how important the right support can be.

At Transform Housing & Support, we see every day how supported housing can change lives, helping people feel safe, build confidence and move towards a more independent future.

This Supported Housing Week - alongside the National Housing Federation and housing providers up and down the country - we’re shining a light on the difference supported housing makes and celebrating the people, services and communities that help make independent living possible.

Together, we can raise awareness, share stories and champion a future where everyone who needs supported housing can access the right home and support.

🐎 That’s a wrap on the Transform Colleague Celebration 2026! 💙

Last Friday, 16 October, Transform Housing & Support held its annual Colleague Celebration to say a huge thank you to all our Transformers for the hard work, dedication and compassion they bring to Transform every day.

This year, we headed to Lingfield Park Racecourse for a fantastic horse-themed celebration. A big thank you to the team at Lingfield for providing such a brilliant venue! 🏇

The day was packed with exciting award presentations, generous raffle prizes from our wonderful donors, tabletop activities, a delicious team lunch, refreshments, speeches and quizzes. There was plenty of laughter, celebration and well-deserved recognition for our amazing colleagues.

🐴 We certainly had a galloping good time! From celebrating our award winners to enjoying some friendly competition, it was a day to remember. 🐎👏

A huge thank you to everyone who helped organise the day, our generous raffle donors and, of course, every Transformer who makes Transform such a special place to work.

We hope everyone left feeling like a winner at the finishing post! 🏆💙

At Transform, we know that supported housing is about so much more than a roof over someone’s head. It’s about providing a safe home, building confidence and helping people develop the skills they need to live more independently.

💙 Supported housing can be life-changing, offering stability, security and the right support to help people move forward with their lives.

But with services facing increasing financial pressures and demand continuing to rise, and in the light of next week's Budget, it’s vital that supported housing is recognised, valued and protected for the future.

You don’t have to live on the streets to experience homelessness. 💙

Homelessness is about more than not having a roof over your head. It can mean not having a safe or stable place to call home, feeling disconnected from your community, and facing barriers to employment, healthcare, support and opportunity.

This World Homeless Day, we’re raising awareness of the different realities of homelessness and the importance of coming together to make a difference.

One way schools can get involved is through a School Sleep Out. 🏕️

Imagine spending just one night sleeping in a tent or cardboard shelter on your school grounds. It’s a simple but powerful way for students to learn more about homelessness, develop empathy and understanding, and take action in their local community.

Originally started by RGS, could your school be next?

By taking part, your school can:

💙 Raise vital funds to support people facing homelessness
💙 Build empathy and awareness of the realities of homelessness
💙 Inspire young people to take positive action
💙 Make a difference to people in your local community

All you need is a date, some sleeping bags, tents or cardboard shelters, and a group of students and staff ready to make a difference.

☀️ End of Summer BBQ!

At the end of August, one of our service teams and clients came together to enjoy a fantastic End of Summer BBQ! It was a lovely opportunity to spend time together, enjoy some delicious food and make the most of the summer sunshine. 💙

It was wonderful to see everyone chatting, laughing and enjoying each other’s company, with plenty of smiles throughout the day.

To round off the afternoon, we held a raffle, including two £10 Tesco gift cards kindly donated by the local Tesco. 🎟️

A big thank you to everyone who helped make it such an enjoyable and memorable way to celebrate the end of summer! ☀️💙

Celebrating Black History Month at Transform 💙

This Black History Month, we’re celebrating the history, heritage, cultures and contributions of Black people across our Transform community, our colleagues, clients, volunteers and wider community.

Black history is an important part of our shared history, and it’s an opportunity to recognise the achievements, experiences and stories of Black people, while continuing to listen, learn and celebrate the diversity that makes our communities stronger.

At Transform, we’re proud to support people from many different backgrounds, cultures and walks of life. Every person brings their own experiences, traditions, talents and stories, and together they help shape who we are.

This month, we’re sharing some of the stories of the people we support and celebrating their journeys, achievements and aspirations.

One of our clients shared their experience of coming to the UK from Sudan as a teenager after war broke out. When they first arrived, he couldn’t speak English, didn’t know anyone and found it difficult to leave their room. Today, with the support of Transform, they are studying at college, playing football, making friends and looking towards their future.

“When I first arrived in the UK, I hardly left my room. Now I go to college, play football and have friends. Transform has given me a safe place to grow in confidence and start building my future.”

Yien’s story is just one example of the resilience, hopes and ambitions within our Transform community.

🌊 A day by the seaside! 🐚☀️

Staff recently supported several clients with learning disabilities on a lovely day trip to Southsea – and it sounds like everyone had a fantastic time!

The group enjoyed a stroll along the pier, plenty of fun in the arcades, and some friendly competition on the air hockey table. 🎮 There was, of course, plenty of excitement around the 2p machines too! 🪙

After working up an appetite, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch, with some tucking into a classic fish and chips. 🍽️🐟

The day finished with a wander around the gift shops, where everyone picked out their own special seaside souvenirs. 🎁

It was a wonderful change of scenery, filled with fun, laughter and a much-needed breath of fresh seaside air. 🌊💙

By the end of the day, the clients and staff were happily exhausted! 😊

Are you experienced in housing compliance, property maintenance and health & safety? Join Transform Housing & Support as our Compliance & Maintenance Officer and take ownership of critical compliance programmes across our housing portfolio.

You’ll play an important role in making sure our properties meet the standards that protect the safety and wellbeing of the people we support – from managing gas servicing and EICRs to overseeing HHSRS works, cyclical maintenance and remedial works.

📍 Leatherhead, Surrey
💷 £35,000 per year + benefits
⏰ Full time, 37 hours per week

We’re looking for someone with experience in housing compliance or property maintenance, ideally within a Housing Association or Local Authority setting, with a good understanding of landlord responsibilities, HHSRS and Awaab’s Law.

🌊🎡 A day out in Brighton – making memories and building confidence!

In August, six young people supported by one of our services enjoyed a brilliant day out in Brighton with Transform staff. Despite three train changes and a fair bit of travelling, it was all worth it!

From funfair rides and selfies by the sea to exploring the town with confidence, it was fantastic to see everyone laughing, having fun and enjoying a well-deserved day off. And, of course, no trip to Brighton would be complete without traditional fish and chips by the seaside! 🍟🌊

Days like this are a wonderful reminder of the importance of creating opportunities for people to have fun, build confidence and make positive memories. 💚
