Horsley Repair Cafe

Horsley Repair Cafe We fix your broken household objects. Open 10-12:30 with "last orders" at 12:00, St. If it ain't broke: don't fix it...but if it is, we will :) Toss it? No way!

Martin's Church Canterbury Rooms, East Horsley, on the first Saturday of each month. East Horsley starts its own Repair Cafe

What do you do with a broken toaster? Or with a bike when the wheel runs out of true? Or with a sweater full of moth holes? Horsley Repair Cafe is organising the first Repair Cafe in The Canterbury Rooms on Saturday 6th July 2024. At The Canterbury Rooms, St. Martin’s Churc

h, Ockham Road South, KT24 6RL on the first Saturday in the month, everything centres on making repairs. Starting from Saturday 6th July 2024 at 10:00 am and ending at 12:30 pm, various volunteer repair experts will be available to help make all possible repairs free of charge. Tools and materials will also be on hand. People visiting the Repair Cafe will bring along their broken items from home. Toasters, lamps, hair dryers, clothes, bikes, toys, crockery... anything that is broken is welcome. And can more than likely be repaired. The Repair Cafe specialists almost always have the know-how. By promoting repairs, Horsley Repair Cafe wants to help reduce mountains of waste. We throw away piles of stuff in the UK. Even things which have practically nothing wrong with them, and which could easily be used again after a simple repair. Unfortunately, many people have forgotten that they can have things repaired. Repair Cafe wants to change all that. Repair Cafe is also meant to put neighbours in touch with each other in a new way. And to discover that a lot of know-how and practical skills can be found close to home. If you repair a bike, a CD player or a pair of trousers together with a previously unfamiliar neighbour, you look at that person in a different light the next time you run into them on the street. Jointly making repairs can lead to pleasant contacts in the neighbourhood." Repairs can save money, resources and help minimise CO2 emissions. But above all, Repair Cafe just wants to show how much fun repairing things can be, and how easy it often is.

Can somebody help this lady? Her name is Jill Mabbs. She lives near St Mary’s.

Hello , someone said that I may be able to have some joy here as I am not able to find anyone who will come and put up a bedroom window blind for me; all handymen want at least 3 hours' work. Do you know of someone who would be able to do this for me for a reasonable rate? I live right near St Mary's in East Horsley. I am not able to do this myself, sadly, due to old age. Many thanks
