Following the closure of Lavant WI in Spring 2023, due to lack of volunteers to sustain a new Committee, this page has not been updated.

The organisation provides a strong framework with shared values to create and sustain local WIs that offer interest and friendship to women of all ages and backgrounds.

I understand some Lavant WI members still meet socially, some have since joined Fishbourne WI (now meeting in the afternoon, rather than evening) and at least one participates in Wildings virtual WI.

Thanks to Arundel WI for the following:

"I am delighted to contact you to let you know about a Charity Fashion Show we shall be holding on Saturday 29th July in the Cathedral Centre, Arundel.

We shall be selling clothing from the WSFWI clothing archive going back several decades. This includes a number of design originals as well as uniforms and costumes. The event will be a Catwalk Show and Shop. Some of the best pieces will be shown on the Runway and then auctioned by our Auctioneer and the rest will be available to purchase in our 'pop up shop'. We will also be selling refreshments on the night.

Proceeds from this event will be shared between Sage Tree House, My Sisters House, WSFWI and Arundel WI.

Tickets are £10 which will include a glass of fizz, and are limited in number. They will only be available from Arundel WI either at our monthly meetings or via email [email protected]

Lavant WI recycles ...

There will be the usual recycling table at the member meeting next Tuesday (20th September 2022):
- plastic milk bottle tops,
- natural corks,
- postage stamps,

Our WI 'Crafters' are also looking for used spectacle cases. That's the metal or plastic cases you use for your glasses. Often the glasses go for recycling or are updated and you're left with the case. Can we have them please. These are for a Christmas craft project.

The WI encourages members to become Climate Ambassadors. Here's Mog (Maureen O'Grady), a member of Lavant WI and a WI Climate Ambassador advertising the plastic-free picnic coming up on Friday 29th July, just down the road from Lavant in Oaklands Park, Chichester.
