This is what we do! 😎

“Sometimes the best thing you can do is bring the right mix of people into the same room to talk about an issue and make meaningful connections.”

We’ve had an insightful few days at the Accessible Gaming Symposium, with valuable discussions on how industry, academia, advocates and policymakers can work together to shape a more accessible future for the gaming industry.

There was a strong, positive energy throughout, focused on the future of games accessibility. From impressive demonstrations of cutting edge accessibility features to thoughtful panels and presentations, the event highlighted how collaboration can drive innovation across the sector.

Huge thanks to our panelists and everyone who attended.

All smiling and looking proud of their insightful discussions.]

Cars parked on the pavement, and other obstructions like A-boards, bikes and bins, can be a huge barrier for blind and partially sighted people – as well as wheelchair users and people with buggies.

In our recent research, 92% of blind and partially sighted people told us they'd had to walk in the road to get around a parked car or other obstacle on the pavement.

So, we were really interested to read that councils in England will be given new powers to fine drivers who park on the pavement. Current laws only allow fines if drivers leave their vehicle in a dangerous position or cause an obstruction.

We recommend a consistent law against pavement parking across the country, so that people can rely on it being the same everywhere. This is likely to lead to a patchwork of different rules in different places.

What do you think of this? Would it make getting around easier? Is a patchwork better than nothing?
