A30 Kennards House to Five Lanes, Road Safety Improvements
We’re writing to inform you of some upcoming essential road safety improvement work on the A30 in Cornwall between Kennards House to Five Lanes starting on the 5 September 2026 – March 2027. Our work will include:
• Junction and visibility improvements
• Improvements to traffic signs, road marking and road studs
• Improvements to safety barriers
We’re making safety improvements along the A30 from Kennards House to Five Lanes as part of our ongoing commitment to reduce the number of people harmed on our roads.
What to expect
To carry out the work safely, the installation of traffic management will require full overnight closures (9pm-6am) of the A30 between Kennards House and Five Lanes, from 5 September to 10 September.
From 7 September there will be one lane open in each direction on the A30 between Five Lanes and Kennards House with a 50mph speed limit in place for the duration of the scheme. Free recovery will be in place 24/7 during the work.
We will also need some further full carriageway closures on the A30, junction closures and traffic lights during the works. Access for emergency service vehicles will be maintained throughout.
We expect this work to cause delays, particularly at peak times (Fridays and weekends), so we advise drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for their journeys.
Closure dates and diversion routes
The dates of our full A30 closures and junction closures are on our website. During closures, a fully signed diversion will be in place. Please follow diversion signs and not satnavs.
For diversion maps and further information please visit: https://nationalhighways.co.uk/roads-and-travel/road-projects/south-west/a30-kennards-house-to-five-lanes-road-safety-improvements/

AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY ACTIVITY!!!
Monday 31st August 2026.

Wild West Trail 10am to 2pm.
If you can work out where the picture represents you can find the beginning of the trail.

So, what is involved?

Find the start and you will be given a picture clue to the first shop. This is an AI generated picture to make it look like a Wild West establishment. Work out where it is and head there. Find the hidden item (Wild West related) in the shop and collect the clue to the next shop. Keep hold of all your sheets as you go.

At the end there will be a chance for a photo opportunity as a wanted poster. There also may be little treats on the way round.

It's just a bit of fun and a great way to see the shops around town. A massive thanks to all those who are taking part.
