Spring is definitely in full flow and with the Spring Equinox on 21st March 2026 we thought it would be lovely to have the shops in town celebrate this with a window display of colour.

The idea is each business chooses a colour as their main choice, and creates a display from the items they have with that colour. So if you choose green, you use items that are predominantly green in your display, it doesn't matter if they have say a bit of yellow on it.

Let's make the town centre a multicoloured celebration of spring and show the joys of the season.

Please message [email protected] to let us know that you are taking part and what colour your window will be. The displays would run from Saturday 21st March to Saturday 28th March. And there may even be a display winner. More details on that to come.

🚘 Have you used the £1 parking trial yet?

You can park at Cattle Market Car Park, Race Hill for up to 3 hours for £1, between 9am and 4pm, 7 days a week.

If we want to keep seeing practical ideas like this in Launceston, it needs to be used — so next time you’re heading into town, give it a go.

Please share and help us spread the word. 💙

💜 Can you spare an hour a month?

Launceston Farmers' Market is now in its third year, and we’re looking for a few more volunteers to help with set-up and pack-down on the first Saturday of each month, particularly 2–3pm.

These community projects only happen because people step forward to help. If you can lend a hand (especially if you have a van 🚐), we’d love to hear from you.

📧 [email protected]

💜 Volunteers Needed – Can You Help? 💜

As the Farmers’ Market enters its third year, we’re so proud of what this community has built together. But to keep it running smoothly, we really do need a few more helping hands.

We’re particularly looking for volunteers on the first Saturday of each month, especially:
🕑 2–3pm (pack down)
🌅 7.30–8.30am (set up)

You’ll need to be physically able — helping take down gazebos, move weights, and load/unload a van. If you have a van, we’d love you even more! 🚐✨

These projects only work because of the time and dedication given by volunteers. Sometimes our regular helpers are unavailable — they have businesses to run, families to care for, and life inevitably happens. A slightly bigger team would make all the difference.

If you can spare an hour once a month, please email [email protected] or send us a message.

Community projects thrive when the community steps forward 💪💜

Great piece from Cornwall Live celebrating what makes Launceston special ❤️

Independent businesses are the backbone of our town, and it’s brilliant to hear local traders speaking so positively about the community, the customers and the support they find here.

If you can, shop local, share local and champion the people who keep our high street unique.

And while you’re planning your visit, remember it’s just £1 to park for three hours in the Cattle Market car park – plenty of time to explore, browse and grab a coffee ☕

Here is a copy of a leaflet that is available around town, celebrating the local shops and what they have to offer, together with events and workshops.

As the Launceston Chamber of Commerce we believe that Launceston has a fantastic array of independent shops, each with their own identity, and are very welcoming to all that visit. You don't get that online and your support of these businesses keeps the town alive and thriving and able to offer more fantastic events throughout the year.

We hope that this leaflet gives you ideas of where to look and what is available in the town.

EXCITING NEWS!!
Advent Window Trail - Sign Up Now!

We’re excited to introduce the Advent Window Trail, a festive opportunity to light up your business and bring the community together! This event will feature 24 businesses, each creating a beautifully illuminated, advent-themed window display.

Here’s how it works:
- Each participating business will be allocated a number corresponding to a day in December when their window "opens" (is illuminated for the first time).
- Displays should remain illuminated from their assigned day through to Christmas Day.
- We will promote your business on social media to guide the public to your display and highlight your offerings.

To take part, all you need is:
- A pavement / roadside-facing window
- A festive display with an advent theme
- Commitment to illuminate your display only from your assigned date and keep it lit through Christmas.

It was winners day for the Halloween Trail. Arthur Owens was the winner of the draw for the Castle Critter, here he is collecting the actual Critter from Vron Walters and Matt Harris from the Chamber. Also Dale Walters of Keep Audio Co. who won the vote for best shop experience.

Looking forward to next year's event. Keep an eye out for what is happening over the next few months.
