A lot of nest building activity last evening

The sun always makes the flamingos flirty, but today they’re doing more than flirting, they are displaying nest building behaviour, very exciting!

With the Beechgrove Garden coming to film here next Thursday, our kitchen garden needs a lot of work, we’re going to be busy this week

I may be slightly mad (or just very optimistic) but I've decided to open my garden for the morning of Sunday 21st June 10am - 1pm. It's only a small garden, but it's my happy place. There is also the chance to have a peek at The
Smiddy which is a part of the history of Bonchester Bridge. Entry is by donation, and all proceeds will go to the Macmillan Centre at the BGH, as a thank you for my continued care and treatment.
I'm now hoping that it will stop raining so I can get the grass cut!
To find the garden, take the turn off to Hobkirk almost opposite the pub in Bonchester Bridge, and my garden is the first driveway on the left. Drive past the garden and there is parking at the Depot building on the right.
Hope to see you then.

Our flamingo house has a central dividing fence in the middle of it, free-standing, not touching the walls, so the flamingos have an exercise room when there’re indoors, they need a route, walking g round the divider gives them that.

The Shetland goslings are too big now to squeeze through the wire, they have to learn where the fence is high enough above the ground.

Last evening was so bright, and so many bats feeding above the pond. Mayfly season is a time of plenty

Our keeper gave the caiques some beech and willow browse today. Look how they’re tucking in.
