Laneham Poor Close Charity

Laneham Poor Close Charity Laneham Poor Close is a 2 1/4 acre field situated off Broadings Lane. The Poor Close is let from Easter until October.

It was donated to the village by the Reverand Edmund Wallas in 1833 to provide "bread for poor persons" in the village. The field is allowed to recover over winter and relet the following Easter.

After deliberation about the future of the Poor Close Charity, Laneham Parish Council decided to sell the Poor Close and invest the money in a high interest bank account. Therefore this Charity is no longer functioning.
