WORD OF THE MONTH: PROTECT 💚🧠

For Nico Ali Walsh, protecting fighters is part of his legacy. Inspired by his grandfather, Muhammad Ali, he continues to stand for the rights, dignity, and future of boxers everywhere.

The Ali Act was created to give fighters control of their careers and their destiny. It is a reminder that every boxer deserves fairness, transparency, and protection.

Protect your name.
Protect your family.
Protect your future.

🎥 As Nico shares, his grandfather’s vision was always about protecting fighters and giving them the power to shape their own path.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, a reminder that protecting yourself goes beyond the ring. It means protecting your mind, your future, and your well-being.

💬 What does it mean to protect your future inside and outside the ring?

SERVICE💚

José Sulaimán dedicated his life to serving boxing and the people who give the sport its heart. For him, boxing was never only about championships or records. It was about humanity, dignity, and protecting fighters inside and outside the ring.

Throughout decades of leadership, he pushed the sport forward with compassion. He fought for better medical standards, safety protocols, education, and long-term care for boxers. While some of his decisions were met with controversy, his purpose never changed. He believed that boxing could and should take care of its athletes.

True service is not always easy or popular, but it is always rooted in doing what is right. José Sulaimán worked tirelessly to bring humanity into the sport and to ensure that fighters were respected, protected, and supported beyond their time in the ring.

At WBC Cares, we honor his legacy by continuing to serve the boxing community with the same conviction and heart.

Quote

“A person who does not serve others, does not serve life.”

EXCELLENCE 💚

Excellence is not built in a single night. It is earned through years of discipline, consistency, and a commitment to always be better than yesterday.

Katie Taylor represents excellence in its purest form. From the amateur ranks to the professional stage, she has set the standard through hard work, humility, and respect for the sport. Her achievements are not only measured by titles, but by the example she sets for athletes around the world.

At WBC Cares, we celebrate champions like Katie Taylor who remind us that excellence is a daily choice, built through preparation, perseverance, and heart.

Boxing is not just about punches thrown, it is about discipline built, confidence earned, and respect learned through consistency. For everyday people juggling work, family, stress, and responsibility, the gym becomes a place to reset and take control. Every round teaches patience under pressure, every session demands accountability, and every setback becomes a lesson rather than an excuse. In the gym, titles do not matter and uniforms are left at the door. What matters is effort, focus, and the willingness to show up after long days and hard weeks. Boxing shapes character for civilian life, building resilience, calm, and self belief that carries far beyond the ropes.
