INSIDE has been shortlisted for Business in the Community at the 2026 Adur & Worthing Business Awards, and honestly, it belongs to all of you.

Every month, more than half of what you read in INSIDE comes from local people: the clubs, charities, schools, groups and neighbours who share their news with us. Then our brilliant team of young people get it through every letterbox. We just bring it all together.

It’s a real privilege to be standing alongside Constructive Marketing, People Finding Consultancy, South Downs Leisure and The Happy Teapot, who all do so much for our community. Good luck to every one of them, and to all the finalists across every category.

Worthing Football Club has been awarded the Freedom of the Borough in recognition of its outstanding contribution to the community and the town of Worthing.

Councillors agreed to bestow the borough’s highest civic honour on the club at a special meeting of Worthing Borough Council on Wednesday evening.

Food waste collections roll out in Adur and Worthing

Over 72 tonnes of food waste was collected in Adur and Worthing during the first week of collections - the equivalent of filling over three normal household waste trucks just with discarded food.

The additional weekly collections were introduced by Adur & Worthing Councils last week as part of the government’s Simpler Recycling programme, which will benefit the environment by recycling food waste into renewable energy and fertiliser used by local farmers.

Could Worthing have its own community-owned energy company?

Repower Worthing has set the wheels in motion to create a Local Energy Company for the town, and they want you involved. Come along to hear their story so far, find out about the next steps and help shape the way forward.

Their aim is to provide community-owned, locally generated energy from clean, renewable technologies, and to help Worthing move away from climate-changing fossil fuels.
