**SANCTUARY UPDATE 25th MAY 2026**

How is everyone coping in this lovely heat? The huskies here are definitely fed up already!! πŸ₯΅

As you all know I've had some time off from the rescue to concentrate on other aspects of my life. I have been running Sasi Sanctuary single handedly from my home in Lancing for almost 5 years now whilst also working and caring for my 2 children. I have rescued and rehomed over 200 animals in that time.

Its been the most rewarding experience and I've loved every moment of it, the joy in pairing animals in need with their forever homes is something that I will never get from anything else, its honestly so fulfilling. There have been ups and downs but I feel i did the best job I could with what i had here ❀️

Soooo.... this is a very difficult decision for me to make but having a break has opened my eyes to how consumed I was by it all, both in terms of the financial aspect and the impact it has on my family, with people coming and going in our home and the time that caring for all the animals took me away from my children and restricted holidays and days out etc.

With this realisation I have decided that I am closing the rescue doors indefinitely πŸ˜ͺ This hasn't been an easy choice as the sanctuary has my heart and its been an amazing journey for me. I need to take some time to invest back into my family and get my finances back in order as I invested so much money into the sanctuary. I will still be offering animal transport and helping other rescues as well as dog walking and pet visits.

It definitely won't be forever and I still see myself with lots of land filled with animals in the future, its where my passion lies.

I want to thank each and every person that has adopted from me, visited, donated, shared and liked posts, recommend me and supported me through the most amazing 5 years. I will be back again some day and I hope you will rejoin me on the journey then. If you have adopted from me please continue to post on our adoption group so I can still see all your lovely furbabies 🐾

Much love to all living beings and thank you again, Sarah πŸ™β€οΈ

Hello everyone, its been a while again πŸ‘‹

Just thought I'd give you a little update on things here. The sanctuary is still shut for rescues at the moment, I'm still waiting on a small amount of money I inherited from my grandmother a few years ago (Irish probate takes forever!) which will be used to decorate my very over due house and makes some improvements to the garden, this will be easier with as few as possible animals here.

I'm not sure if you all remember Harli (previous Dee), she was the sister to Beakie, Titch and Dozy. Well when she arrived she had a cough that didn't seem to go away, the vet at the time wasn't sure what it was so I kept her here until we could find out. After some xrays and tests she has been diagnosed with cat asthma. She is currently on steroids to manage this and we will look at other treatment options later on, this is now her permanent home.

Unfortunately our famous Bear hasn't been well either, he was a very sickly kitten which is why he stayed here at the sanctuary and sadly 5 years on he has just been diagnosed with stage 4 Kidney Disease, the prognosis isn't great but I will do all I can to support him.

Tio who you remember had constant urine infections is now doing great and hasn't had an episode for a while although he is still rather fat πŸ™ˆ Tiny Tim isn't so tiny anymore and is due another vet visit soon to see how his heart mumour is doing, hopefully it hasn't gotten any worse. Loki still isn't a fan of humans but does now enjoy a fuss before food, Arlo is still a blanket sucking cutie, Skyla who went missing for at least 6 months (she had another home) has been back everyday since we sadly lost Blue, unfortunately there was no love lost between those two, Lord Tobias still looks down on the other cats and our blind girl Asha still rules the roost!

The dogs are doing great, the ferret is loving her life being free range in my daughters bedroom and I've made huge progress with my wild horse Neo.

So although I have no "rescues" here my life is still very much animal focused and I appreciate as always the support I receive from you all πŸ™β€οΈ
