The last heartbeat, 11.30am on the 18th Jan 2019, I was laid on the bed with you, Iโd been there for hours while you hung on.
I whispered in your ear โI love you so much but itโs ok Reece you can go to grandad now, you donโt have to fight anymoreโ because as much I wanted him stay, I didnโt want my beautiful, courageous boy to suffer anymore, he left us moments after ๐
I shared this four years ago, Iโm not sure how itโs now seven years.
The time has passed but this day, these moments are still seared so vividly in my mind, everyday Reece is still on my mind in everything we do, but some days are so damn hard. What I would give to hear his voice or have a cuddle from him!
Watching his brother Callum perform at gigs is in equal measure the proudest moment and the most heartbreaking because I know Reece would be his biggest fan, words cannot convey how much I would give to have him stood beside me.
Seeing Callum spreading reindeer food and dancing with his little sister Hallie on Christmas Eve last year was truly magical, but knowing Reece would have loved her just as much but will never meet her in this life made me cry on the way back on home. (Thank you to Chris & Jess for letting me share these moments, it means a lot)
So many moments now have passed without Reece in them, so many photographs where heโs missing.
I will miss my beautiful boy for the rest of my life, that will never change, the pain somedays is as fresh as the moment his heart stopped.
Today weโre asking again for donations, even just ยฃ1 will help or your help in fundraising to keep Reeceโs Retreat open for another year, to enable families to create memories.
Memories are a lifeline for families like ours who look back on our pictures and videos when itโs all we have left.
To be able to give families the chance to make those memories in Reeceโs memory is to create light from darkness.
Thank you to everyone who has and continues to keep Reeceโs Legacy alive by supporting Team Reece ๐๏ธ
