St John's Hospice

St John's Hospice St John's Hospice is a charity. All of our care, compassion and support is offered free of charge to patients and their families or carers.
(376)

St John’s Hospice provides care, compassion and support for patients with life shortening illnesses across the South Lakes, North Lancashire and parts of North Yorkshire. Our care however is not cost free, around a quarter of our funding is from the government and the remaining three-quarters is raised by people like you in our local community. This is why St John's fundraises throughout the year

with events, the St John's lottery, monthly giving schemes, wills and our shops so we can be there for one of the most difficult times in people’s lives. Our services include an inpatient ward for end-of-life care as well as pain and symptom management, a Hospice at Home service for people who choose to spend their last time at home and need our support, Clinical Nurse Specialists who support people with planning and pain & symptom management, and a Respite Service for carers of loved ones who need respite time during the day or night. St John's also offers pre and post bereavement support plus other services you may not associate with a Hospice such as Social Workers and Therapists.

💚 Thank You Thursday 💚

🍪A huge thank you to Lucas and Mateo, who recently baked their own cookies and sold them door to door in memory of Lucas’ Dad, John. Thanks to their incredible effort and kindness, they raised an amazing £370.60!

🚶‍♀️Thank you and congratulation to Haley and her son Luke, who recently completed a 50 mile walk from St John's Hospice to Blackpool Tower and back (supported by her daughter Lucy). They raised an incredible £400.40!

🫖A big thank you to Asda Express in Ingleton for once again donating items to keep our coffee mornings running. These events are a staple for our community fundraising, and donation such as tea, coffee and biscuits help us keep our expenses low, so that more of what we raise goes directly to caring for patients and the families in our community.

⚽We were delighted to meet Hayden, Taylor and Leo who organised and took part in a charity football match at Morecambe Football Club back in May at Morecambe FC. The event raised an incredible £1,334! Thank you also to Waters and Atkinson Chartered Accountants and Sofidel for sponsoring the event.

🍟 Thank you to Atkinsons Fish and Chips, who have made an incredibly generous £1500 donation to St John's Hospice. Our Director of Income Generation, Catherine, is pictured with owners Kevin and Lynne Wright receiving the cheque.

🫶 Thank you to Glenfield Leisure Park who raised a marvellous £200 on a recent raffle. They've now raised £1185 for St John's Hospice!
