Iv just counted 28 plants 🪴 just in my bathroom. I remember a time i didn't have a bathroom, not even a tap or a plant, but i did have the great outdoors. Wasn't that great though.

Sneeking a quick flannel wash in an Esso garage toilet, made my day if they had hot water!!

Then I recall the public baths in Barrow did Lancaster ever have these ??. When I say public baths I dont meen swimming baths. They were PUBLIC baths. You could pay £1 and you got a propper bath filled and an hour to use it.... heaven ☁️ 😶‍🌫️ ✨️ Now its great ###

This is a pick if you are a household of 5 or more. If this is your case and you have more mouths to feed, and more bills to struggle to pay, then you are entitled to 2 picks. Both at £8 each. Are we all not sick and tired of standing in the cold and wet waiting for the gates to foodclub to open ? I for one am not looking forward to the winter months when its so cold the eggs freeze !!

Well guess what..... we gave been kindly offerd a place in The King's Community church ⛪️ on Phoenix street in Lancaster. Thats just behind Currys.... it gets better.

There is a stay and play for 0-5 year olds and their adult. This is from 10 till 11.30 FREE . There is a lovely cafe with hot soup, drinks and cakes 🎂 FREE. There are toilets !! Yes!!!

The only thing is foodclub would have to change to Tuesdays. But im sure that wouldn't be a problem. Watch this space and let me kniw your thoughts. The top red dot is were we are now, the bottom red dot is The King's Community Church.

WE HAVE SPACE FOR NEW MEMBERS !!! At Melbourne Food Club - Lancaster
Operating from a 5-star hygiene-rated facility in which is actually my back garden, we provide vital service for families in our community. Up to 70 families week.

​Our Impact and Model :
Our club operates on a "Social Supermarket" model that prioritizes dignity and choice. For a membership fee of just £8, our families are able to complete a "shop" that would typically cost between £35 and £55 at a standard retailer. This provides an immediate and significant boost to their household's disposable income, often making the difference between eating and heating.

​Our Resourcefulness:
We take pride in our ability to source high-quality surplus food from a variety of partners, including:
​FareShare (Paid membership)
​Neighbourly * Local surplus collections wherever possible.
​In addition to fresh and ambient food, we provide essential hygiene products and pet food—items that are often the first to be cut from a struggling family’s budget but are essential for health and wellbeing.

​Going Beyond Food:
What sets our club apart is our holistic approach to community care. We recognize that poverty is often a barrier to healthcare. To bridge this gap, we personally assist families in accessing hospital, dental, and GP appointments by providing transport for those who otherwise could not attend.
​Furthermore, we act as a dedicated voice for those in our area who feel they cannot speak up for themselves. Whether it is navigating bureaucracy or advocating for fair treatment, we ensure our members are heard.
