A little trip to MediaCity for The BHY! 🎤💙

Our Head of Promise, Sarah, Grange Park Manager, Danielle, along with two of our brilliant young people, Charlotte and McKenzie, headed to MediaCity in Manchester to meet the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) to talk all things youth work!

They talked about the work we do across Blackpool and the Fylde Coast, the importance of investing in youth services, creating opportunities for young people and making sure their voices are heard when decisions are being made about their futures.

But most importantly, Charlotte and McKenzie got to share their own experiences, what The BHY means to them and why youth work matters.

And they absolutely smashed it! 👏🏽💙

We can talk about the difference our work makes all day long (and we often do 😂), but there’s nothing quite like hearing it directly from the young people themselves.

A huge thank you to the DCMS for inviting us along, and to Charlotte and McKenzie for representing The BHY so brilliantly. We’re very proud of you both💙!

Join us from 26th–29th October for plenty of HAF fun, with sports, games, arts & crafts, outdoor activities and Halloween fun thrown in too! 🎨⚽🎃

What a night. ❤️

The Boathouse Youth Party Night 2026 absolutely delivered and we raised £60,000... 🥳

The venue was packed, the entertainment was incredible, the food was stunning and we partied with a purpose until we couldn’t dance anymore!

The extraordinary amount of money we raised will make a very real difference to our work.

Thank you to every business and every individual who supported the night - whether you sponsored the event, bought a table, bought a ticket, donated a prize, bid in an auction, bought a balloon, filled an envelope or simply came along and threw yourself into the evening.

A particular thank you to Read & Errington, our headline sponsor, Beaverbrooks the Jewellers for supporting our Balloon Pop and SE3 Projects for keeping everyone very well fed later in the evening. 🍕

Joey Blower was on absolute form! 🤣

And, of course, a huge thank you to our brilliant staff and volunteers who put so much work into making the whole thing happen.

We deliberately want Party Night to feel different. We aim for a proper night out…

And judging by the dance floor, the live musicians, the bucking bronco and a few slightly sore heads this morning, we think we managed it. 😂

But underneath all of the fun is something that really matters.

Sustainability is our promise to young people: that we’ll keep showing up.

Last night helped us keep that promise.

A huge thank you to the Web Dispatch team at Beaverbrooks, who chose us as their department’s charity and made a donation to support our work 🥺!

The BHY was championed by one of their team who used to attend our Bloomfield Centre as a young person and now works at Beaverbrooks! 🥹

Their Assistant Manager visited Bloomfield to present the cheque, have a look around and learn a little more about the work we do and the difference our youth work makes in the community.

Bloomfield was the first of what is now five Youth Centres, so it feels pretty special knowing that someone who once came through those doors is now championing us in their workplace years later!

A massive thank you to the whole Web Dispatch team for choosing us and supporting the next generation of BHY Young People! 🙌

We were really proud to welcome DCMS to our Grange Park Youth Centre earlier in the year to create this showcase video!

We love working with our Grange Park community. We know the families, we know the young people, siblings who have grown up through the centre, parents that pop in for a quick chat and we get to see young people grow up right in front of us.

Like anywhere, it has its challenges, but there’s also so much good here, and we’re really proud that The BHY gets to be part of it.

Our centre is more than just somewhere to go after school. It’s part of Grange Park, and the people who come through the doors are what make it what it is.
