Some countryside challenge for our Wednesday gang 🎉

Lots of great weaving and halting ✋🏽 our new riders got involved too and done very well with using their voices and their reins to ask our ponies to stop and turn ⤴️⤵️

We hope all our Clydesdale families have a lovely October break, we will see you all for more hard work when we come back 🫶🏽

We also had a lovely visitor our county chair came to see what we have been getting up to and present some of our amazing volunteers with a certificate from their most recent training session 🎉

Hello everyone, I'm Rebecca Smith (Becky to most), a newly qualified Speech and Language Therapist, mum of three, lifelong horse lover, and a volunteer Coach-in-Training with the RDA. Horses have been a part of my life for a while now, and they're a big part of my children's lives too.
Two of my children are completely horse-mad; my youngest, Ollie, rides at Drum RDA and takes lessons nearer home alongside his sister Eve. Watching how horses support their confidence, communication and emotional regulation has shaped so much of my professional journey - and inspired the work I'm building today.
I currently support sessions at Clydesdale RDA and am trialling pilot communication sessions at Drum RDA, while developing an equine-assisted communication programme that blends therapeutic practice with the calm, relational power of horses. There's so much planned - from our Drum pilot, to new resources, to the future launch of equine-assisted communication sessions in Lanarkshire. I can't wait to share this journey with you.
