A huge thank you to everyone from Blether Buddies who came together to make The Big Lunch such a wonderful success! πŸ’›

It was fantastic to see so many people sharing food, friendship, laughter, and conversation, helping to strengthen the connections that make our community so special.

A special thank you to all our volunteers whose time, energy, and kindness helped bring the day together. Your support makes a real difference and helps create opportunities for people to connect and belong.

Here's to building stronger communities, one conversation at a time!

As part of our Volunteer Week campaign, we're celebrating the people who choose to be the reason someone smiles. Through small acts of kindness and understanding, volunteers make a real difference in the lives of others.
Mandy from Art in Mind shares what volunteering means to her:
"I have enjoyed 'volunteering' for several charities over the years. Yes, I've chosen groups doing activities which I enjoy of course! There isn't the pressure like doing a paid job. The people helping are genuine, lovely and caring, but those being supported are the reason why.
Are we in our own bubble most of the time? Their bubble is so very different from mine and keeping them afloat is all they need with a little help. Not much to ask, is it?"

πŸ’™ Volunteer Week | πŸ’™
Every volunteer has their own reason for getting involved, but they all share one thing in common a desire to make a difference.

This Volunteer Week, we're shining a spotlight on the people who give their time, compassion, and energy to support others in our communities. In this video, Derek shares his experience as a volunteer, what inspired him to get involved, and the impact volunteering has had on both his life and the life of those they support.
This story is a reminder that sometimes the simplest acts of kindness can have the greatest impact.

Take a moment to hear why he chose to volunteer and how he's helping to be the reason someone smiles today.

🌟 Volunteer Week – Day 1 🌟

What if one small act of kindness could change someone's entire day?

Today, we launch Volunteer Week with a simple challenge: ….. someone smiles today.
Behind every smile is a story, a listening ear or a helping hand. A few minutes given freely and a volunteer who chose to show up when it mattered most.

Across Arran, volunteers are creating moments that often go unseen but never unnoticed. They are building connections, offering support, sharing skills, and making a real difference in the lives of others. This impact isn't measured by grand gestures alone, but by countless small acts of kindness that remind people they are valued, supported, and not alone. This kindness has a ripple effect that can be felt by many.

This week, we'll be shining a spotlight on incredible people who give their time, energy, and compassion to make a difference. Through a series of volunteer stories and videos, you'll hear directly from those who are helping to strengthen our communities why they volunteer, what inspires them, and the difference they see every day.
Volunteering isn't just about giving back, it's about creating belonging, building hope, and being the reason someone smiles.

Join us throughout the week to celebrate people making a difference, one act of kindness at a time.
