To all Year 7s to 11s ...
To all Year 7s to 11s. Are you feeling a bit nervous about going back to school after the Christmas holidays? That is completely normal ❤️
There’s something about the last day of the holidays that can feel strange. One minute you’re relaxing, and the next your brain remembers: school is tomorrow. The alarms come back. Lessons start again. Bags need packing. It can feel like everything is suddenly rushing at you.
During the holidays, time feels different. Days are slower. You don’t have to think about timetables or homework. You can just BE. Going back to school means switching your brain back into “school mode”, and that can feel hard, even if you like school.
You might feel a bit worried, a bit tired, a bit sick or even a bit sad that the holidays are over. That doesn’t mean anything is wrong. It just means you enjoyed your break.
The important thing to remember is this: you don’t have to feel totally ready on the first day back. You don’t need to be the “perfect student” straight away. Tomorrow is just about taking the first step back into routine. One lesson at a time. One day at a time.
If today feels a bit bleurgh, that’s okay. Lots of other people feel the same, even your teachers!
Be kind to yourself, get ready, as ready as you can, and remember: you’ve done this before, and you can do it again 💪
Good luck tomorrow/today.
You’ve got this 🌟
