To all Year 7s to 11s ...

To all Year 7s to 11s. Are you feeling a bit nervous about going back to school after the Christmas holidays? That is completely normal ❤️

There’s something about the last day of the holidays that can feel strange. One minute you’re relaxing, and the next your brain remembers: school is tomorrow. The alarms come back. Lessons start again. Bags need packing. It can feel like everything is suddenly rushing at you.

During the holidays, time feels different. Days are slower. You don’t have to think about timetables or homework. You can just BE. Going back to school means switching your brain back into “school mode”, and that can feel hard, even if you like school.

You might feel a bit worried, a bit tired, a bit sick or even a bit sad that the holidays are over. That doesn’t mean anything is wrong. It just means you enjoyed your break.

The important thing to remember is this: you don’t have to feel totally ready on the first day back. You don’t need to be the “perfect student” straight away. Tomorrow is just about taking the first step back into routine. One lesson at a time. One day at a time.

If today feels a bit bleurgh, that’s okay. Lots of other people feel the same, even your teachers!

Be kind to yourself, get ready, as ready as you can, and remember: you’ve done this before, and you can do it again 💪

Good luck tomorrow/today.
You’ve got this 🌟

Christmas will be here before we know it, so why not sort your tree nice and early at Eastbury Growers?

They’ve got lovely Blue Spruce and Nordman Fir trees in a range of sizes, all priced at £40. You can come along on the dates below, pick out the one you like, and Tobi or Dave will cut it, trim it and net it for you. If you’d prefer not to use netting, feel free to bring something like an old duvet cover to pop it in.

Cash on the day is best and local delivery can be arranged.

Just get in touch:
Tobi: 07976 724 705
David (Digger Dave): 07974 118 807

Wishing you a very Happy Christmas!

Ahh, sorting out next year’s calendar, closing down this year's terms, after-school clubs and family plans, here’s a lovely local addition you’ll want to include!

Universal Stores now has the 2026 Lambourn village calendar on sale.

It’s a beautiful collection of photos celebrating our village life, the people who keep things ticking, and the countryside where our kids roam. The calendar is created by Sara Bartlett and her husband, Frank.

Even better, every penny of profit goes straight to the Lambourn Surgery Amenities Fund, so it’s something that gives back to all of us. Pop into the stores to pick one up, or if getting there is tricky, you can reach Sara at [email protected] plus she’ll have copies at the Fayre in the Square at the end of November.
