🚣‍♀️💙 What a fantastic weekend at Cromarty Regatta 2026!

A huge thank you to Cromarty Community Rowing Club for welcoming us to such a brilliantly organised and enjoyable regatta. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality, organisation and atmosphere were fantastic, both on and off the water. We absolutely loved being part of it!

And what a weekend for our crew — there were smiles everywhere and a real sense of pride in what we achieved together. ❤️

A special thank you to the rowers from other clubs who kindly joined us to fill seats in Saucy Mary. Your generosity and team spirit meant we could get out on the water and take part in even more races — and we really appreciated it. 🤝

A massive thank you to our own SSLCRC crew for everything you did over the weekend. Every job, big or small, helped make it such a brilliant team effort. And a special thank you to everyone who helped with Saucy Mary, the logistics and all those endless jobs around the shore. 👏💙
Enjoy some of our photos! 📸😊

☀️ Saucy Mary on her holidays in Plockton this weekend (from Kyleakin!) 🌴

We took a row round the Perch in 19min 35sec for Dolan's timed challenge today. Might take a wee paddle out again tomorrow. Pop along to say hello and ask about coastal rowing, 11am at Plockton carpark slipway. We row regularly from Kyleakin and take part in regattas. New members always welcome 😀🚣 See our website or FB page for more info.

We suspect the Plockton boat, the Seonaid, might be out again soon too 😉

A fabulous day's racing was had Golspie Rowing Club’s regatta on Saturday. Sunshine and windy conditions that were challenging in a wonderful and memorable way! We thank Golspie for a super set-up, superb coordination and a very welcoming, friendly vibe.

Congratulations to Golspie as overall winners of the event 🏆

Our Novice crew landed third place with the help of two lovely Portmahomack ladies! 😁🥉

And the hardy rowers from our small club all pitched in with super effort and cooperation! 😊🫶With thanks to Al who did a stellar job towing Saucy.

Camping and socialising was a fun bonus to a great weekend. If you'd like to get involved get in touch. We'd love to have more folk rowing and racing with us 😁🚣

🌅 Solstice Row 2026 – Cheers to the Longest Day! 🥂

Last night, members of South Skye and Lochalsh Coastal Rowing Club celebrated the summer solstice in the best way we know how – out on the water. At 9pm, five rowers aboard Saucy Mary and three aboard The Big Lebowski slipped away from Kyleakin pier, passing beneath the Skye Bridge and into slightly choppy waters, as the longest day of the year slowly gave way to evening....

🙏 Thank you to everyone who braved the windy conditions, visited, and bought from our stand at the Maritime Day yesterday. We had a children’s lucky dip, ‘Buzz Wire’, ‘Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover’ and the very popular ‘Wine or Water’. The bottle of Torabhaig wh**ky was won by Phyllis Perterkin. Thanks also to Kyle Lifeboat RNLI for organising this great event again.

If anyone fancies coming along to join us for a taster row session, please contact us via FB or website. We’d be delighted to see you. 🚣

Thanks to Wendy Bell and Radio Skye for the photos. 🤩

An incredible weekend for our club at the Sail and Oar Gathering on Tanera Mòr!

Launching from the green rocky shore at Badentarbet, our rowing crew of Al, Lauren, Helen, Rebecca and Lesley joined fellow coastal rowing clubs for a truly memorable day on the water. Alongside Saucy Mary, club members Frank and Lisa, together with Lindsay and Simon, also took part by kayak as part of our group for the event. The gathering brought together around 10 skiffs from 8 clubs, as well as a couple of luggers, and the magnificent tall ships ...
