Exciting News!

Line dancing and a multi-award-winning choir will make for a show finale with a difference at this year’s Great Yorkshire Show, which takes place on Tuesday 14 – Friday 17 July.

On Friday, show visitors will be encouraged to get up on their feet for line dancing sessions with Boot Scootin’ Cow Girls from The Dance Studio Leeds during four performances throughout the day at the Sheep Shearing Stage, interspersed with three performances by Knaresborough-based Knot Another Choir.

The feelgood factor will be high as these two new additions to the Show’s line-up bring singing and dancing for everyone to enjoy on the final day of the 167th Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.

Knot Another Choir, a registered charity, is a mixed community choir of champion pedigree, with singers aged between 17-87. The group has swept the board at competitions in 2026, picking up five trophies for hitting the right notes at Eskdale Festival in Whitby and Mrs Sunderland Festival, Huddersfield. Expect classic hits from through the decades when the choir takes to the stage for its first ever performances at an agricultural show, led by Musical Director, Craig Antony Lees.

Julie Bradbury-Sharp, Trustee of Knot Another Choir said: “We’re very much a local choir with members all across the Harrogate area and beyond, and being Yorkshire people, being able to perform at the Great Yorkshire Show is a real honour. We are delighted!”

Tickets are on sale now and are available to purchase in advance only, with prices frozen at the same rate as last year. Tickets are priced Adults £36.50, Children £13 and Families £89, while YAS Membership is Single £95 and Joint £155. Go to www.greatyorkshireshow.co.uk/ticket-information

Free shuttle buses are operated by The Harrogate Bus Company every day of the Great Yorkshire Show. The buses run every 10 minutes from Harrogate Bus Station (next to the Railway Station) to the Showground’s White Gate, starting at 7.20am. The last bus departs the Showground at 7pm.

Double Win at the Eskdale Festival of the Arts National Choir Day

We’re thrilled to share some more exciting news — we did it again!
On Saturday 18th April 2026, we took to the stage at the prestigious Eskdale Festival, held at the iconic Whitby Pavilion on the stunning West Cliff in North Yorkshire. With glorious sunshine and breath-taking views, it was the perfect setting for an unforgettable day of music. After years of wanting to take part, this was finally our time to debut at the festival — and it couldn’t have gone better.

Two Performances. Two First Places.

We entered two competitive classes and delivered performances packed with energy, emotion, and musical flair:

Mixed Voices Class
Featuring Happy Together and a powerful, moving interpretation of Run (Snow Patrol)

Recital Class – The Festival Finale
Our showstopping set included Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I Wanna Dance with Somebody, and a stunning arrangement of Steal Away (Mark DeLisser)

The competition was fierce, with outstanding choirs from far and wide — making the results even more special.

🏆 First Place – Mixed Voices Class
Awarded the beautiful silver “ETS” trophy, presented by Sir John and Lady Harrowing

🏆 First Place – Recital Class
Winners of The Eskdale Tournament of Song Norman Strafford Memorial Trophy (dating back to 1919), along with a £100 prize

More Than Just Winning
What made the day truly unforgettable was the incredible feedback from adjudicator Philip Dewhurst, recognising not just our performance quality, but the passion and connection we bring to our music. This success is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and spirit of our choir, which continues to go from strength to strength under the leadership of our Musical Director, Craig Lees. We were expertly accompanied on the piano by our talented young accompanist, Stefan Wardle — and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone involved.

A huge thank you to our supporters who joined us on the day — your presence meant a great deal to us.

Want to hear us live? Come and experience the energy, the sound, and the joy for yourself — we’d love to see you there.

Here’s to 2025 — what a year it’s been for Knot Another Choir!
A year filled with music, laughter, hard work, and huge achievements. Under the inspiring leadership of our brilliant Musical Director, Craig Lees, the choir has gone from strength to strength, sharing our love of singing with wonderful audiences who have supported us so generously throughout the year.

We’ve raised our voices (and funds!) for charity, enjoyed uplifting workshops, and loved collaborating with other choirs along the way. We’ve also been thrilled to welcome some fantastic new members into our choir family, along with our talented young accompanist, Stefan Wardale, whose musicianship has brought an exciting new energy to our sound.

And now — we raise a glass to 2026!
We’re starting the year in fine voice by entering three exciting competitions: the Manchester Annual Choral Competition, the Huddersfield Mrs Sunderland Festival, and the Eskdale Festival of Arts in Whitby — wonderful opportunities to showcase the passion, talent, and spirit of our community choir.

So here’s to our Musical Director and accompanist, our members, trustees, committee, and to our incredible supporters and friends. Thank you for being part of our journey. May 2026 be full of harmony, happiness, and unforgettable music. Cheers to the year ahead! 🥂✨
