Moments of Support: Forest Bathing for Everyday Life This 2-hour session offers carers a gentle introduction to forest bathing (Shinin-yoku) and how its principles can be used to support wellbeing in everyday life. Designed especially with carers in mind, the event provides a calm, restorative space to pause, reconnect with the senses, and explore simple practices that can be used both personally
and with those they care for. The session will begin with an overview of what forest bathing is (and what it isn't), including its origins and the evidence behind its benefits for reducing stress, supporting emotional regulation, and improving overall wellbeing. We will explore how forest bathing does not require access to a forest and can be adapted to indoor spaces,
gardens, or brief moments throughout the day. Participants will then be guided through a mini indoor forest bathing experience, using gentle sensory practices, imagination, and natural elements to evoke the feeling of being in nature. This accessible, seated session is suitable for all abilities and requires no prior
experience. A key part of the session will be Fleeting Ferns' take on a tea ceremony — a simple, mindful moment where participants are invited to make tea for one another. This shared practice encourages slowing down, presence, and mutual support, offering a quiet
opportunity to both give and receive care in a nurturing, non-pressured way. The session will also include practical ideas for weaving forest bathing into everyday life, from mindful pauses and sensory awareness to indoor nature connection and short
outdoor practices that can fit around caring responsibilities. The event is experiential, reflective, and supportive, offering carers time for themselves
while gaining realistic tools they can return to again and again.
No special equipment or physical exertion is required.
