Through the Angus Community-Led Vision Fund, Angus Rural Partnership has awarded Kirriemuir Food Hub funding to develop and establish a Community Resilience Centre.
Recently, our Development Officer Gemma Scott visited Arlene at Kirriemuir Food Hub to hear more about the project and the difference it will make locally.
The Resilience Centre will help our community prepare for and respond to severe weather, power outages and other emergencies — providing a safe, welcoming space for warmth, refreshments, information, support and connection when people need it most.

Kirriemuir Food Hub

Our Development Officer Gemma Scott recently visited Hugh Campbell Adamson to hear the progress on Phase one of creating a car park for Stracathro Primary School.
With the school now full and limited parking available, the need for a safer parking solution has been recognised by the local community for many years.
Through the Angus Community-Led Vision Fund, Angus Rural Partnership has awarded Stracathro & Inchbare Community SCIO funding towards the first phase of the project, supporting the archaeological investigations and planning work needed to move things forward.
This is about more than creating a car park — it’s about creating a safer environment for everyone around Stracathro Primary School.

Whole Family Wellbeing Fund – coming soon!

Thinking about a project that could make a difference to families across Angus? The Whole Family Wellbeing Fund is opening for applications on 1 October.

Funding will support community-based collaborative projects that help families early, prevent problems from reaching crisis point and improve long-term wellbeing.
There will be grants of up to £25,000 through Voluntary Action Angus and up to £50,000 through Angus Council, with optional start-up support also available.

More information and guidance will be available when the applications open.

There’s been some great progress on Forfar Music Group’s “Acoustic Works and Operational Expansion” project. Gemma Scott, our Development Officer, recently visited David Shepherd to see the work taking place and find out more about how the project is coming along.
It’s fantastic to see the difference this project is making and how it will support the continued development of Forfar Music Group. 🎵

Our CEO Scott Petrie, and Development Officer Gemma Scott, recently visited Jimmy Thomson to see how Newtyle & Eassie Community Council’s ‘Newtyle Park Community Activation Programme’ is coming along.

It was fantastic to hear through our work with George Thomson and members of Newtyle and Eassie Community Council how the recent project to reinstate the Pétanque courts has brought the community together with their Sunday family fun in the park days. The project is supported through the Angus Community-Led Vision Fund.

What a wonderful community success story which involves people of all ages.

Well done to everyone involved in making this happen and helping reinvigorate Newtyle Park.

Today and tomorrow, venues across Angus are opening their doors to welcome visitors for a weekend of free discovery.
