We’re thrilled to say that we will once again be holding a Christmas Day meal this year, in co-operation with Age Scotland Orkney - and this year we’ll be back at the Salvation Army hall! Last year there were almost 70 of us at the meal and we had a wonderful time together. Please help us spread the word: we really don’t want anyone in our community - whatever age - to have to spend Christmas Day alone. Details below - and please help us spread the word!

We are launching a new Winter Coat Swap at Orkney Library & Archive. If you have any winter coats you no longer need we'd be delighted to have them.
We're looking for coats to fit any age and size, adult or child, as long as they are in good, clean condition ready for wearing. 🧥

Any donations can be handed in to library staff in Kirkwall or Stromness, or at the Mobile Library.

We'll have a rail at Kirkwall and Stromness so you can come along and take any coats you need, whenever you need them. It's another way we're trying to help people spend less. 🧥

We'll have our new coat rails up and running next week during so come along and see what we've got, or drop off your donated coats any time we are open. 🧥

Proud and reflective today to hear the impact of the Participation Funds on children and families lives. This fund is now in place at every school in Orkney Orkney Islands Council

The concept started at Papdale Primary School through funding from us, Orkney Charitable Trust, a private donation and the Blue Door Kirkwall and is now helping to remove barriers to make sure that children across Orkney have opportunities to participate in all school activities.
