The branch are delighted to collaborate with both Amnesty International and Orkney Friends of Palestine to present screenings of the film โThe Voice of Hind Rajabโ this Wednesday and Thursday.
There will be a live introduction before the film, alongside a display of information and Palestinian Fairtrade products for sale in the cinema foyer.
On January 29, 2024, Red Crescent volunteers received an emergency call. A 5-year old girl is trapped in a car under fire in Gaza, pleading for rescue. While trying to keep her on the line, they do everything they can to get an ambulance to her. Her name was Hind Rajab.
This is a powerful docudrama directed by Kaouther Ben Hania (Four Daughters), which uses the real voice recording of Hind Rajab from the events of that day. Nominated for the Best International Feature Film Oscar, BAFTA and Golden Globe, and winner of more than 14 awards worldwide including the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize at Venice Film Festival.
