The RotaKids at Dounby Primary School have had a very busy year. Their focus has been helping in the community and spreading kindness. This has included making bird feeders and litter picking. They also made cards and pictures for the service users at the West Mainland Day Centre and joined them in painting planters. They are currently planning a fundraising afternoon to raise foundation to raise funds for the Archie Foundation.

Last week, Akira Miki, Rotary PolioPlus National Advocacy Advisor, and Dr. Shigeru Omi, Chair of the Japan Anti-Tuberculosis Association and Rotary Polio Eradication Ambassador, met with the Minister of Finance Satsuki Katayama together with key stakeholders in the field of infectious diseases.

We provided an update on the current status of polio eradication and expressed our gratitude for the Government of Japan’s continued support. We remain committed to working closely with the Japanese government toward the achievement of global polio eradication.

Just a couple of photos from our Bag-The-Bruck tidy up, around the Peedie Sea and Skate Park, on 19th April. Amongst the rubbish we found lots of blown litter from the surrounding area, but most of the footpaths and play park was very clean when we arrived. It was still a full car load of rubbish which we dropped off at the refuse centre.

A good fun event that certainly made a difference.

Delighted to see such a great turnout for RYLA on Saturday at the Scotland North Rotary - District 1010 conference in Dunfermline. The RYLA team spoke to almost every club, chatted to RYLA Club contacts and caught up with friends of old and made some new ones.

Excellent team effort from RYLA mentors. Helping out today were - Dundee IPP Dai John, opening conference speaker Bob McKenzie from Orkney Rotary Club - District 1010, Fiona Campbell, inspirational speaker and former RYLA Girl and very delighted to have excellent assistance from Leah Rae, RYLA Girl 2024 and now a Rotarian at Alford and District Rotary Club 👍

The shiny new promotional posters and leaflets are my now hopefully being displayed across D1010 and there is a ‘Promote RYLA 💙💛🩵🩷
plan in the pack too🙂 This was designed by The Malting House, Wendy Maltman Dundee Rotary Club is the creative genius behind this.

2025 Mud Run – Coming Soon!

We’re thrilled to be teaming up once again with Orkney Prostate Awareness for another brilliantly muddy adventure at Corse Farm! A huge thank you to George Eunson and his family for kindly letting us turn their fields into an obstacle playground.

After the amazing turnout and fantastic feedback from last year—and with this being the final year at this much-loved location—we’ve dusted off the festive legwarmers for one more run!

Keep an eye out for online entries opening soon, along with all the T&Cs you’ll need to take part. Get ready to get muddy!
