✨A Little Notice✨
Just a quick update to let everyone know about a couple of upcoming closures.

- Saturday 1st August – We will be closed for a private function.
- Saturday 8th August – We will be closed to allow our amazing team a well earned day off to enjoy the County Show with their family and friends.

We apologise for any inconvenience and really appreciate your understanding. We'll be back as normal after each closure, ready to welcome you for coffee, cake and lunch!

'Sooans' Open Day at Kirbuster Farm Museum

Join us on Saturday 11 July, 11am–4pm at Kirbuster Farm Museum, Birsay, to celebrate Sooans - a traditional Orcadian oat food that was once a staple in island homes.

Come along for hands-on activities exploring the traditional sowens-making process, from oat sheaf to finished dish, and taste ready-made scones from Orkney College.

Held in the historic firehoose, in partnership with the Sowens Solutions project (UHI Archaeology Institute, University of Copenhagen and James Hutton Institute, funded by the Novo Nordisk Foundation).

In Bergen, where the only indication left that St Nicholas Church was there is the street name. The church was first mentioned in the 1100s, and by the 1500s was a ruin. Not sure if the Christmas Shop is there by accident or design!
