Gardening Club!
Lots of giggles this week as Sheila, Anne, Emer and Ian have been planting vegetables and flowers in preparation for deafblind awareness week starting the 22nd of June.

Deafblind Awareness week starts on Monday! The theme this year is “See Hear Us” highlighting individuality, unique strengths and ability within the deafblind community.

We have three events during the week:
Bushcraft, Pollok Park, Wednesday 24 June, 1030am – 1pm

Guided Walk at Glasgow GreenThursday 25th June 10.30am - 12pm with tea and coffee afterwards

Tuesday 30th June 1.30pm - Recycle-A-Bike Tandem Cycling at Glasgow Green, enjoy a cycle round the park on a side by side bike with a pilot - places are limited please book: [email protected] or 0141 777 6111

Carers Advice Project

JOB TITLE: Project Officer
COMPANY: Deafblind Scotland
BASE: You’ll spend most of your time travelling across Fife, with the flexibility to work from home and occasional catch-ups in the office at Deafblind Scotland Learning & Development Centre, 1 Neasham Drive, Kirkintilloch.

CONTRACTED HOURS: The post is full-time at 35 hours per week, with flexible working available. Part-time working or job-share options will be considered
SALARY/BAND/GRADE Salary Scale - £24,715 - £29,229 Point (26 – 31)
TERM Initially 1 year fixed term 25 days annual leave and 12 public holidays (pro-rata)

Deafblind Scotland is the specialist charity working with deafblind people or those at risk of developing a second or dual sensory loss. Our ambitions are high for people with sensory loss, particularly those who are deafblind and we are therefore at the cutting edge of finding ways to support them to lead their most meaningful lives. The project operates in Fife to support people to access their rights so they can have a better quality of life and to reduce socio-economic and health inequalities.

T​he project officer will work with the carers affected by sensory impairment within this project which is part of our Connect2Support Programme. Overall ensuring the carers affected by sensory impairment, who are amongst the most disadvantaged in society, are provided with specialist support which enables them & those they care for to access their rights and navigate the systems, services and support that can improve their lives.

This project may be ideal for an early career candidate or someone seeking to move to a new field as the project is well support by the existing project team.
