So the Community Centre asked what is the Marine and Coastal Restoration Plan? Why do we need this?
The plan is a strategic document outlining efforts to repair and improve the health of marine and coastal ecosystems, by setting goals, identifying restoration opportunities, establishing regulatory frameworks, securing funding, building supply chains, and improving evidence based monitoring.
The purpose of such a plan is to reverse biodiversity decline, enhance ecosystem function, and maximise the ecological, social and economic benefits of healthy coastal environments.
