Kirkcudbright Fringe Festival is delighted to announce our exciting new youth engagement project - Fringe Pathways. We will be letting you more about this very soon but one way that you can get involved right away is by voting for us to receive a grant from the Co-op Local Community Fund. The more people that vote, the more money we get to put on workshops and events for and with local young people, and to involve them in Kirkcudbright Fringe. Voting is open to Co-op members, and its very easy to join if you're nor already one. All the information is at:

Cracking two page spread in this week's Galloway News and a plug on the front page for this year's Kirkcudbright Fringe which it declares had "Spirit, buzz and a sense of bonhomie at best fest." Our best Fringe ticket numbers, unique visitors to the town, and a real Fringe Festival excitement. With great quotes from Richard Jobson, lead singer of the Skids; filmmaker Jessica Fox; architect Malcolm Fraser. Many thanks to Galloway News and everyone who contributed to this year's success.

One week on from Kirkcudbright Fringe and the success and impact of our Festival highlighted in coverage on Dumfries and Galloway! Whats Going on ? site. It mentions the record numbers who attended the Fringe and record number of unique visitors to Kirkcudbright over the four days; along with great quotes from the likes of filmmalker Jessica Fox and Skids frontman Richard Jobson. https://www.dgwgo.com/out-and-about-in-dg/the-fourth-kirkcudbright-fringe-festival-was-the-biggest-best-yet/?fbclid=IwY2xjawUTTiNwZG9mAWV4dG4DYWVtAjEwAGJyaWQRMXZqTmQzeWVvSWVvM1Uza1pzcnRjBmFwcF9pZBAyMjIwMzkxNzg4MjAwODkyAAEeRFsKaK5SyViJ4jvAU5C97hLhg7GooSfuqnnvp4E69ylcgIE_bElZNZGovTc_aem_nvHgSzb20iX6i7pmo_IFYQ

Kirkcudbright Fringe Festival is now over: four days in our fourth year. We have had so many positive comments, affirmations and people saying it has been our best yet. We have got to do our proper evaluation but the vibe and numbers are good: 2,100 tickets sold: 8% up on last year; 75% up on our first year; and a record numbers of visitors to the town.

Thank you to everyone who made it possible. It takes a lot of people to plan and delivery a four day festival. And every single role - from our many partners to every individual - is essential in the overall picture. We will be back in touch on having a gathering and thank you to everyone and hope we have not left folk too exhausted. We welcome ideas for future Fringes and people getting involved. The best is yet to come ....

This year's Kirkcudbright Fringe concludes with a landmark event commemorating the women persecuted as witches in Scotland. With the forces for social enlightenment Claire Mitchell KC and Zoe Venditozzi alongside Andrea Thompson of D&G Life, DJ McDowall, Ros Olllin and the High Priestess. In a sold out Parish Church it honoured Elspeth McKewan & launched a community project to remember her. An important event and occasion.

A stellar Sunday morning of cultural conversations in Kirkcudbright Fringe. First up: actor Gary Lewis, Steve Brown and Tabi Mudaliar talk about cultural challenges in Kirkcudbright at the stellar Millar's W**e Bar; followed by Skids frontman Richard Jobson and storyteller Jessica Fox at the town's galleries address culture, creativity and the power of independence - of mind, spirit and practice.

A powerful evening of compelling hard rock from the Skids. Great songs, riffs and stories from Richard Jobson reflecting on past and present, growing up in Fife, their halcyon days on Top of the Pops, and writing and playing with Stuart Adamson. A memorable, moving evening from genuine rock legends.

Another Kirkcudbright Fringe stellar event with journalist Peter Oborne talking about his book: Complicit: Britain's Role in the Destruction of Gaza. in conversation with Joyce McMillan. Oborne was damning of the cowardice of successive UK governments in falling to criticise Israel and champion Palestinian self-government. An intense session touching major geopolitical issues.
