Watch this space as not just a TRA is back up and running for its 2nd year now, But I have enough signatures now for a community council here in Methil.
I will be looking for more than 9 people who live in Methil / Lower Methil to come onboard and be a voice to feed into the Pride in Place panel, who will be deicding on how to spend £2 million every year for the next TEN years in Buckhaven, Methil and Methilhill. If you have friends or family in thoe Methil area who would like to be part of this please drop me a PM here. I joined Alison Steadman - the unforgettable Pam Shipman in Gavin and Stacey - to praise Marie Curie's nurses recently for the charity's Great Daffodil Appeal.

But we also had a more sobering reason to meet - because palliative care is in crisis.

New research published by Marie Curie - Scotland shows nearly one in three people spend their final days without palliative support which should be available to everyone at the end of their life.

What's more, without reform, this statistic is likely to significantly worsen because of Scotland's aging population and rising numbers of people living with multiple illnesses.

I join Marie Curie in urging the Scottish Government to legislate to deliver a Right To Palliative Care to ensure that everyone - regardless of age, diagnosis or postcode - can die with dignity.

ICYMI: Revised plans to build a crematorium at Southfield Industrial Estate have been refused by Fife Council.

The original plan was rejected by Fife Council in 2024 then subsequently approved by the Scottish Government, subject to conditions including the build of a construction skills academy and timber manufacturing facility before ground broke on the crematorium.

The developer proposed an alteration of this condition but Fife Council determined "this would undermine the safeguard which was included within the original permission, to justify the loss of safeguarded employment land and to secure the wider economic benefits of the approved scheme."
