Soroptimist International of Kirkcaldy

Soroptimist International of Kirkcaldy Who Are We? Soroptimists are “women working together to make a difference”.

https://sigbi.org/kirkcaldy/ We are a friendly group of women from a variety of occupations, who all share a desire to make a difference in our local community and in the wider world, through raising awareness, practical activities and fundraising. The first Soroptimist Club was founded in Oakland, California in 1921 by 80 passionate women. Little did they know that from this small beginning would

grow a family of 95,000 sisters around the globe, which makes us the world’s largest classified service organisation for women. The word Soroptimist comes from the Latin words soror meaning ‘sister’ and optima meaning ‘best’ and loosely translates as ‘best for women’. Our Vision

Soroptimist International is a vibrant, dynamic organisation for today’s professional and business women. We are committed to a world where women and girls together achieve their individual and collective potential, realise aspirations and have an equal voice in creating strong and peaceful communities worldwide.
