It will take you 30 seconds to drop a used v**e at a recycling point.

When v**es get crushed in general waste or mixed recycling, the batteries become a fire. That spark becomes a fire. Sometimes in the truck. Sometimes at the depot.

Find your nearest v**e recycling point. It could be at a supermarket, v**e shop or council site.

Each volunteer attending the Big Field Cleanup (First Cleanup Event Of 2026 / Late Spring Clean) event today will be given a Things We Count sheet to fill in. Can I ask that each volunteer fills it in as they find listed items and not leave it until the end, so we can get an accurate tally of the items found. Also bring a pen or a pencil to fill it in as well.
