Update from the Commanding Officer 📢

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the unit has had to temporarily suspend activities on Monday evenings.

This is not a permanent closure. It’s simply another hurdle for Kirkby & Liverpool North Sea Cadets to overcome - and we’ll do exactly that, work is already underway on finding another suitable venue to call home for TS Daring 💪⚓

Despite this sad news, our staff and cadets have had an amazing time at NW Area Summer Camp 2026 at HMS Raleigh. It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved, making memories along the way!

We’ve also returned to boating for our weekly sessions on a Tuesday evening at Knowsley Boat Station!, It’s brilliant to get our cadets back afloat and doing what Sea Cadets do best!

A huge thank you to our amazing staff, cadets and supporters for continuing to make things happen. 💙

💙 Food Bank Appeal Reminder 💙

Our community never fails to amaze us.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already donated to our Food Bank Appeal. Your kindness and generosity will make a real difference to local individuals and families who need a helping hand.

If you’d still like to contribute, we’ll be open this evening between 7pm & 9pm and again on Monday 20th July (7pm - 9pm) to accept donations.

Please note that the unit will then be closed for two weeks from 20th July, as our staff and cadets will be away attending the North West Area Summer Camp. We look forward to welcoming everyone back when we reopen on 10th August.

If you’ve been thinking about donating, we’d love to see you before we head off to camp. Every item donated, no matter how big or small, helps support people in our local community.

💙 Help Our Junior Sea Cadets Support Local Families 💙

At Kirkby & Liverpool North Sea Cadets, our Junior Sea Cadets (ages 10–12) have been learning about the importance of giving back to their community. As part of their community activities, they have chosen to organise a collection in support of Northwood Chapel Food Bank, helping local individuals and families who may be facing difficult times.

If you’re able to help, we’d be incredibly grateful for donations of any of the following:

Long-life food
• Tinned foods (beans, peas, etc.)
• Pasta
• Cooking sauces (tomato, curry, etc.)
• Instant mash
• Noodles
• Rice
• Crisps
• Biscuits

Toiletries
• Soap
• Shampoo
• Toothpaste

Baby essentials
• Baby wipes
• Nappies

Unfortunately we are unable to take fresh or frozen food, as these items cannot be stored safely.

We know that many families are feeling the impact of rising costs, so we truly appreciate that not everyone is in a position to donate. However, if you can spare even one item, it will make a real difference to someone in our local community.

Donation Drop-Off Location:
Kirkby Sea Cadets (Scout Hut), Old Rough Lane

We can accept donations on the following evenings

• Monday 13th July (between 7&9pm)
• Monday 20th July (between 7&9pm)
• Monday 10th August (between 7&9pm)

If you’re unable to drop your donation off but would still like to support this initiative, please send us a message on Facebook or email us [email protected], and we’ll do our best to arrange a collection.

Congratulations to our fantastic juniors, Archie and Lucy-Mae, who were proudly presented with their promotion certificates along with their Red and Green Module awards respectively!

The presentations were made by Councillor Alexander Hitchmough, Councillor for Northwood, who kindly visited our unit to learn more about everything the Sea Cadets has to offer the young people of Kirkby.

It was a pleasure to welcome Councillor Hitchmough to the unit, and we hope he enjoyed seeing first-hand the opportunities, skills, confidence, and friendships that Sea Cadets helps young people to develop.

Well done again to Archie and Lucy-Mae on your fantastic achievements—we’re all incredibly proud of you! ⚓👏

A huge well done to our juniors this evening for creating some fantastic posters highlighting the importance of staying safe around rivers and being aware of the dangers of hot weather.

The creativity, effort and understanding shown by everyone was outstanding. From water safety messages to tips on staying cool and hydrated during the heat, the posters carried some really important reminders for us all.

We're incredibly proud of how engaged our young people were and how confidently they shared these vital safety messages. Great work, everyone! 👏☀️🌊

🌞 Warm Weather Update 🌞

Due to the warm weather, there is no requirement for cadets or CFAVs to wear uniform this evening.

Please ensure all cadets bring a refillable water bottle so they can stay hydrated throughout the evening. 💧
