Caring Together North Yorkshire

Caring Together North Yorkshire Caring Together North Yorkshire is a registered charity working across Ryedale and Whitby areas to offer support to unpaid carers and those who feel isolated.

Formerly known as 'Ryedale Carers Support' and 'Caring Together Whitby & District'. Ryedale Carers Support is a registered charity whose purpose is to provide practical and emotional support for carers, the people they care for and older people living on their own. The service provided by volunteers, supports carers and those being cared for in their own home. It enables carers to have a well-earn

ed break and maintain a life away from their caring role, whether this is social or work related. Volunteers also relieve the social isolation experienced by many elderly people living on their own in a rural area. RCS achieves these aims by providing:

A sitting service to enable carers to get out on their own and provide respite from their caring role and to provide a change for the person being cared for. A visiting service for elderly people living alone who have few social contacts and would enjoy some extra company. Support Groups for carers. Each month there is a meeting in Malton and another one in Kirkbymoorside

We are proud of what we do to support carers and those living alone by introducing volunteer visitors & organising events to bring people together, but we always want to do more! In , we’re excited to share that we're raising funds and awareness by walking the 24-hour, 40-mile Lyke Wake Walk as a group relay on 2 July😁πŸ₯ΎSo here we are getting ourselves fit and ready. Our merry band of walkers - volunteers, trustees and staff - walked and nattered this 8.5 mile section, setting off from near RAF Fylingdales - Eller Beck Bridge - heading west across Wheeldale Moor to Hamer. We hopped across the steam railway line, passed standing stones, clambered up a huge ravine and got soggy boots in the peaty bogs on the final stretch. Please support us in our challenge: https://www.justgiving.com/page/ann-ferguson-4
