What you need to know
The Ray Boxshall Orienteering fun day is an annual event that takes place
in the village of Kintbury; it has been running for 40 years and attracts many teams from the village and surrounding area. Participants walk approximately 7 miles following map grid references and solving cryptic clues along the route.
Teams can contain both adults and children, who are encouraged to enter with
their parents or carers. We have a special additional competition for children and of course the obligatory raffle! Kudos given for a clever/funny team name.
The event promotes health and fitness for young and old alike. It has two main
aims, firstly to keep open the local footpaths in the surrounding area and secondly
to raise funds for local charities.
Winning Home and Away teams will win an engraved Trophy and Home winners will organise the following years event. There is also the highly regarded ‘Russell the Gnome’ b***y prize up for grabs!! Dogs are welcome too!!
