Ray Boxshall Orienteering Fun Day Kintbury This annual event will be held on Sunday 6th October 2024
Start time 9am from the Coronation Hall We have a special additional competition for children.

The Ray Boxshall Orienteering fun day is an annual event that takes place
in the village of Kintbury; it attracts many teams from the village and surrounding
area. Participants walk approximately 7 miles, solving clues along the route. Teams can contain both adults and children, who are encouraged to enter with
their parents or carers. The event promotes health and fitness for young and old ali

ke. It has two main
aims, firstly to keep open the local footpaths in the surrounding area and secondly
to raise funds for local charities. The event has now been running for 36 years now.

To all followers of the orienteering. We regret to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control the 2025 event has had to be postponed. We will regroup and be back bigger, better and stronger for 2026. I hope you all understand

It was a perfect day for walking ⛅️ 🥾 and a good time was had by all.
We have had some lovely feedback thank you ❤️
We don’t have a final figure for the money made for this year’s charities yet, but it is in excess of £1000 👏

The Ray Boxshall Orienteering fun day is an annual event that takes place in the village of Kintbury; it has been running for 40 years and attracts many teams from the village and surrounding area. Participants walk approximately 7 miles following map grid references and solving cryptic clues along the route. Teams can contain both adults and children, who are encouraged to enter with their parents or carers. We have a special additional competition for children and of course the obligatory raffle! Kudos given for a clever/funny team name. The event promotes health and fitness for young and old alike. It has two main aims, firstly to keep open the local footpaths in the surrounding area and secondly to raise funds for local charities. Winning Home and Away teams will win an engraved Trophy and Home winners will organise the following years event. There is also the highly regarded ‘Russell the Gnome’ b***y prize up for grabs!! Dogs are welcome too!!
